Surprised no one is really talking about this event. It's a pretty decent card and it's free on the Versus network. UFC Live ''JONES VS. MATYUSHENKO'', 8/1/2010 (Versus/Rogers Sportsnet/Televisa/ESPN-UK) San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego CA1. Middleweight bout: Rob Kimmons vs. Steve Steinbeiss 2. Lightweight bout: Darren Elkins vs. Charles Oliveira3. Middleweight bout: Brian Stann vs. Mike Massenzio 4. Light Heavyweight bout: James Irvin vs. Igor Pokrajac 5. Welterweight bout: DaMarques Johnson vs. Matthew Riddle 6. Lightweight bout: Paul Kelly vs. Jacob Volkmann 7. Lightweight bout: Tyson Griffin vs. Takanori Gomi 8. Welterweight bout: John Howard vs. Jake Ellenberger 9. Middleweight bout: Yushin Okami vs. Mark Muñoz 10. Light Heavyweight bout: Jon Jones vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
Yay for Big John McCarthy's first UFC event in 3 years!

Two of my favorite fighters are on this card! Hope Griffin and Riddle pull out the wins! Also if anyone can explain this to me, UFC has no choice over the refs right? So I understand Big John had issues behind the scenes but if UFC has no control how come he never ref'd for them for awhile and why now?

Supposedly it was scheduling issues. He was suppose to ref at 104 but had prior obligations and he isn't licensed as a ref in Nevada.

Bones is the future...
I can't wait to see that kid go against guys like Lil Nog, Shogun, Machida, Evans...
his wrestling is insane..his Muay Thai is beautiful...he is just all around one of the most entertaining guys to watch fight. His fight with Vera ended a bit soon but he pretty much punked Vera. Everytime I see him fight I am more and more impressed..

The kid is really good. He obviously shows some great skill, but I wouldn't call his style "beautiful". He's a bit sloppy, but people call it "creativeness". I hope he learns to sharpen up his skills so he can even be more of a threat.

What impressed me about Bones was his eloquence and humility after the Vera fight. Kid is pure class.

I undertand that Tyson's upset, but Rogan is right. When you're face down, taking shots, and your arms aren't even moving at all, then you're done.

And what if the ref didn't stop it? Tyson would have gotten beat on even more.
