The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE star Chris Jericho is expected to take some time off from the company when his contract expires this fall. WrestleZone was the first to exclusively report awhile back that there was heat on Jericho for accepting the host position on ABC's game show "Downfall," and it appears that both the game show tapings and upcoming Fozzy dates might see Jericho taking time off from WWE. There is speculation that he might finish up with the company altogether, but that has not been confirmed at this point.

I doubt the "not coming back altogether" part because didn't he say in an interview he still feels he has a few years left in him.

Just saw this online
A young boy threw his drink at Chris Jericho during a match against Evan Bourne at the WWE live event this weekend in Shreveport, Louisiana. Jericho stopped the match, got on the mic and demanded that the kid be removed from the arena. Security then escorted the boy and his father out of the building.

No one should be shocked when Jericho walks away imo. He has said for awhile now that Vince needs to make new stars because the veterans are moving on soon, himself included. His passion for wrestling has diminished over the last few years and I think that is because he wants to do the Fozzy thing and the game show thing, and movies and anything else that keeps him healthy and frees up his schedule. Jericho has done everything in wrestling and really has nothing left to do. He does however, have a whole list of other things he seems to have on his plate that could draw him away from the ring. I would love it if he stayed for at least a couple more years, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if he never came back.

Jericho is a smart guy. He knows wrestling isnt forever, so hes got his TV stuff, his music career, and his books already in place, so he can complete the transition from wrestling to his career following wrestling pretty seamlessly which not many wrestlers do, and fade into oblivion. When hes ready to leave, he will, hes already proven himself MORE than enough.

Man, it's really shocking how he want from the hottest commodity in the company as the tag team champ to an afterthought. It's a shame that his team with The Miz was nothing more than a tease.

I love Jericho, but this would be a great time for him to take a little break. He's not in the middle of anything right now, so that wouldn't be a huge issue. I could handle a few months without Jericho and him return and start a big program with someone, heel or face.

The best plot would be to be put out possibly in like October. Return and win the Royal Rumble he should've won a long time ago and then win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

I think Jericho will take time off but Cena and Jericho will have a match soon where the loser leaves the WWE and then Jericho will lose and take time off and return if he is not busy but if he is busy and Fozzy becomes a huge rock band and the game show takes off then he probably will never return which would suck!
