I have been reading through the forums the past couple of days and ever since pictures surfaced of the new Legends series at Comic Con, I've seen a lot of wish lists for wrestlers to be included in future series. A legend according to the dictionary (not to go point dexter on you) is "One that inspires legends or achieves legendary fame." Some of the names I've seen tossed around like Duke the Dumpster Drose, Headbangers, Taka, and Gangrel don't really fit the definition of a legend. Jakks could get away with it because Classic Superstars fit who they were...old superstars. Just tell me if you could ever picture Baston Booger's or Duke the Dumpster Drose's picture on a WWE Legends package? Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to see these figures and others made like them, but the only way Mattel ever could without damaging the reputation of real WWE legends (like Steamboat, Sheik, Piper, etc.) would have to be by making a new series for these wrestlers. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I'd like to see a seperate line for each Era of WWE.
For example people like the headbangers are legends but they arent legends on the scale of Steamboat/piper so i think there should be a line of Attitude Era legends and other such ERA's

as long as they produce figures like they have been, they can call in WWE Rootie Tootie Fresh 'n Fruity and i wouldn't care

So what do you want Mattel to call their series, old washed up former pro wrestlers? Not everyone they make might not be a legend but their from an era full of legends and that's what makes certain wrestlers who may not be a legend specail.

They legends pretty loosely as a term anyway. To WWE legends are anyone that worked there in the past.

However, to be fair... the OP has a legitimate point. But it obviously isn't going to affect the sales and our liking of the figures one way or another.

I think the name is fine. The only other name I could even think of would be "WWE Alumni". But Legends still sounds better to me.

WWE refers to them as Legends so i think that is why they are named that .

That's what WWE refers to talent that left the company recently on their web page. But that name doesn't grab your attention like Legends. I like the name Legends, it makes me wanna buy the product, and I would buy anyone like some of you have said no matter the name of the series. I just see some names in a Legends category being weird.

I believe you mean could have picked, not could of. Legends is a great name for this line. No other name needs to be considered.

I prefer Legends than Classic Superstars. Remember, Legends does not only mean HOF...

I really like the name "Legends" but then again I don't plan on purchasing any of those guys you mentioned. For me just like with the CS if I didn't like them in the ring I don't want them on my shelves.

There arent too many options for toyline names featuring old characters. They are either called Legends (Marvel Legends) or Classics (DC Universe Classics). Maybe Vintage Superstars wouldve been a better choice...

Maybe Vintage Superstars wouldve been a better choice... And every figure could come with a stand like entrance greats that has a recording of Michael Cole saying "that is vintage <Insert superstar name>".

I actually feel the same way. Not a big deal or anything, but I always thought the WWE Heritage Series would've been more open to what Legends will eventually include.
