SlayKnotV1, after seeing your collection I thought two things:
1. I love the all black Bret hart.. I think it would look even better with the no shades look.
2. After seeing your post.. I want to play with figures again after not playing for nearly 10 years!

How could we all forget the urban legend of the Kane figure in the green and black attire that he supposedly wore at a few house shows back in 1999 with X-Pac. I have heard there was a proto type of that figure, I guess people have seen it before but it was years and years ago. It would be cool if it somehow came around to see again if it is true.

^ Haha even without the reference pic, obviously fake. So which version of Austin did everyone here use in their feds? I used the Superstars 5 one until he finally broke. I liked the body and head better than the later, bulkier Austins that came out.

I did, too, during the early years, but I never had a problem with the evolution of BCA molds as it was happening. Once I had bought newer versions, I would use those to replace the old one, and then I'd usually rebrand the older figure into someone new that I could use in my fed.
I did use a Series 4/5 Austin as my own character for a while, but I think the head fell off and I was forced to go in another direction. I turned a few street gear Austin figures into custom wrestlers (not good customs, but still decent for play) so that I didn't have so many figures lying around, wasted (probably not the best terminology for Austin lol).
Nowadays, I like the 2 Tuff Series 5 Austin with the short boots for a bulkier figure of him, but his debut figure and the smaller one in black trunks with black wrist tape from the Bad to the Bonz boxed set are ideal, as well.

I personally loved the First Austin. Series 4 maybe? Its been so long. It was in the "heels" set that came with I believe Lawler, Bradshaw, Hunter, Faarooq, and Vader. By far one of my favorite sets of all time

By far one of my favorite sets of all time Superstars Series 4 "Bad Boys" "Stone Cold" Steve Austin Jerry "The King" Lawler Vader Hunter Hearst-Helmsley Faarooq Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw Absolutely amazing set. I remember walking into an Ames department store seeing the aisle loaded with that set of figures, I begged my mom and she finally gave in and bought me the whole set.

I remember my buddy Jer (who wrestles as "Showtime" Eric Young now in TNA, true story!!) called Walmart to ask if they had any new figures in and they said "yes, Bad Boys" so me, him and 2 other friends went into get them but all they had left where Austin, Bradshaw, Lawler and Triple H. But I snagged those 4 at least for the time being.

Very cool. Do you still keep in touch with him? Series 4 is definitely one of the best, so who would like to rank the nine Superstars Series? Best to worst? Favorite to least favorite? For reference, if needed: bonecrunchingaction.com/?p=69

Yes Chicago, I still do actually. He was talking to me on facebook just the other day. Last time he was home though was in December 2007 for Christmas. But he doesn't ever have the time anymore to come around with the TNA schedule and such.
He and I would mess around with the BCA's when we were teenagers for hours. We'd come up with new moves and such with them. Fun times I will never forget.
But if we had to rank the top 9 in order from best to worst, at least for me it would go like this.
1. Series two - Just because it was the first series I seen of those figures to purchase and I loved the Shawn Michaels and Owen Hart in it.
2. Series four - A great line up of figures, and getting Austin at that time was huge.
3. Series three - Bulldog, Mankind, Ahmed, Sid were solid, but the series 1 HBK and Bret in this line was a downer for the ones who already had the Series 1 figures of them
4. Series one - It had a lot of great stars, just I think it may have been some what rare back then since a lot of people said they never bought Series 1 figures back then cause they couldn't find them.
5. Series seven - First Edge figure, Val Venis, new Taker figure, X-Pac figure, this line was solid.
6. Series nine - Gangrel and Christian definitely made this set desirable. The rest of the figures were okay.
7. Series five - A mid card line at best. A real disappointed compared to Series 4 (re-release of Austin, and Sid!! come on!!) Savio was crap, Rocky Maivia was mediocre, Shamrock and Flash Funk were good though.
8. Series six - New Triple H figure, and Mark Henry were probably the selling points for this line. Jeff Jarrett's figure is okay, Owen Hart's new figure emphasized the whole "Black Heart" deal as a face, Marc Mero was new in his Marvelous gimmick, and Steve Blackman was horrible!!
9. Series eight - The Corporation line of figures. Horrible line. New Shamrock figure wasn't great, commish HBK was horrible, Shane O Mac was a saving point though for this line. Kane was nice if you didn't have the slammers one yet, and of course Boss Man.
That's my list, I am sure a lot of other people will have a different one, but to me, that is the order I put them in.

I always found it absurd when I was a kid that Commissioner Michaels, Shane McMahon suit, and Vince in a suit were all the exact same figures with different heads. I ended up trading my Commissioner Michaels for The Jackal, and I didn't even want or need Jackal. It was just a fact that the figured annoyed me SO much, I would take anything my friend offered me for it. Ended up trading my Vince away too for STOMP Crush with none of the accessories. His ring gear figure with the clip on suit was such a better figure, even if the clip on suit looked absurd

I'm working on a blog post right now, but I'll post my favorite/best Superstars Series list in a while. His ring gear figure with the clip on suit was such a better figure, even if the clip on suit looked absurd That's not true, because the only reused parts are the arms and legs on the Series 8 Shane and Shawn figures; their dress shirt torsos are unique to each figure and were brand new at the time. Vince is a completely different, smaller, less-articulated mold representing his commentator days. The Jackyl is all new, as well, but his was a one-time release and has much more detail overall. It is a great figure despite the lack of articulation.

My Vince and Shawn figures both lost their microphones, which made me sad as a kid.
I actually loved both Shane and Michaels, but I disliked that Vince figure. .

I had a Vince that was exactly the same as Shane. Had the angry ring gear head with that body.

There was a Vince like that in a similar color suit, but it was the removable half-suit. It was exclusive to the Expect No Mercy 4-pack and was only available at K-Mart stores.

You are a beast chicago, lol. Did I buy a couple Backlash BCA Kanes off you, either on ebay or on WF?

Yeah, I sold you one on eBay lol. The carding on that thing was as mint as I've ever seen for a BCA figure.
Since I can always save the idea of a "Best of" list for a future blog post, I'll just run through each Superstars series from my favorite to least favorite. Although, I'll try to remain objective, too, if that makes any sense lol.
1. Superstars Series 1 - the very first Jakks Pacific WWF series that began with all new sculpts and an incredible selection of the top WWF stars from 1996.
2. Superstars Series 4 - Five debut figures and one re-release (Vader) makes for an exceptional series, but Austin and HHH's debut figures being in the same series is a big deal.
3. Superstars Series 2 - If this series had two more debut figures and only one repaint/re-release, it would have been a great follow-up to Series 1. Instead, we got three repaints, but at least one of those was able to glow in the dark (Undertaker).
4. Superstars Series 3 - The Series 1 Bret and Shawn re-releases drag this set down a bit, but there are excellent debut figures for grabs here (Bulldog, Mankind).
5. Superstars Series 7 - X-Pac owns this series, but Edge and Venis debut figures truly usher in the new generation; there are also new molds for Austin and 'Taker, so we can let Dr Death slide this one time lol.
6. Superstars Series 6 - Very similar makeup as Series 7, but I'll take Dr Death over Steve Blackman's pre-posed figure for the tie-breaker. You've got to love the HHH and Mero upgrades, but only three debut figures hurts this series (Blackman, Henry, Jarrett).
7. Superstars Series 5 - I really should rank this above Series 6 with its four debut figures (including Rocky's debut), one repaint, and one re-release, but it is a mid-carder series at best. I love Flash and Shamrock, though. I'll justify Series 6 being ahead of this since it was the series that saved the original BCA figures from a permanent Slammers transition after Series 5.
8. Superstars Series 9 - Four debut figures (although Christian and Gangrel are very similar) were a welcome addition, but everyone remembers this final Superstars series for Show's debut figure, Vince's awful two-piece (literally) suit, and 'Taker's removable entrance robe.
9. Superstars Series 8 - Only two debut figures ranks as the fewest of all the series (Boss Man, Shane), and the rest aren't really all that impressive. The Rock is an underrated street gear figure and Kane's first non-Slammers figure was worth getting, but the rest are only okay.
