Awesome I’ll look for it once I get a chance. I’m going to try using the Goldberg head that comes with the retro fig. Hey what kind of paint did you use? Those look great Post pictures of your progress! What retro figurehead are you using? I just use regular acrylic dot-dot-dot the brand varies... Usually what's ever on sale LOL put a seal on afterwards to prevent chipping and flaking.

It’s not bad looking plus I heard those heads fit BCAs good but we’ll see!

Was recently rebitten by the BCA bug. I first got into wrestling in late 96 so it was the perfect time to delve into a full BCA obsession. Recently I’m watching thru the entirety of 95-97 on the network so I’ve been thrown back into the full love and concentration on BCAs.
I’m fortunate that I still have most of my original collection intact and even MOC - all of the first series, Razor/diesel boxed set ... buried alive set, even all of the DTA and Shotgun series still MOC and stored. The thing is that most of that collection is at my parents house on the opposite coast, SO I’ve decided recently to buy one or two BCA pieces a month just to have here to display and appreciate - nothing overboard but a few of my favorite figs and sets.
Kicked it off today by ordering one of my favorite sets of all time, the Raw is War set w Bret, sunny, Sid and Vince. I remember late 97 being w my parents at a giant indoor flea market in Jersey and seeing this set at a wrestling collectibles shop and I was floored by how awesome it was, I didn’t even know it was something that existed until I saw it that day (which never happens anymore obviously). Anyway, happy to be back to these awesome figures! 👽

So I debated on if I should make this it’s own thread. However I don’t think I want to go that far yet lol.
After discussing the tremendous amount of Mattel’s B75 Lana shelfwarming Toys R Us stores around the country, I was wondering who is the ultimate shelf warmer figure. I naturally would have to say the Signature Series 3 Jacqueline.
Dr. Death would have to be a close second within the BCA area. I started collecting in ‘99 so I’m not familiar with who warmed prior. But I’d love to put together a comprehensive list of the “Greatest Wrestling Figure Shelfwarmers!” It seems to vary sometimes by state to state but I think we can all agree that Jacqueline and Lana are probably the hottest in warming.
On another note, I’ve had my Jackie for 20 years now. I lost her hair eons ago haha. I recently went to purchase another one at a flea market, only to find the four of them I saw (separate booths mind you) were all $15-$20! WTF?!?! I think I bought mine for $2 right before they started going for $1.50 at TRU 😂. Man I was willing to pay a fiver on her MOC but dang! So long story short, I took an extra Naomi hairpiece and slapped it on Jackie. Kinda looks like her hairstyle now tbh.

I took an extra Naomi hairpiece and slapped it on Jackie. Kinda looks like her hairstyle now tbh. I noticed that with Jackie with her HOF appearance last year. A lot of black women lose their hair because they try to relax it like hair you would find on white women which ruins their hair. They should let their hair be natural, much more beautiful and unique. You should never try to chemically alter your hair or straignten it etc, let it be natural whether its afro textured hair or coarse, frizzy etc. Let it be natural!

Anyone remember these belts growing up with the BCA line? Was from a generic wrestler that looked like hogan. came from a wrestling figure magazine that I think later became ringside if im right.

I just watched the RAW after Badd Blood last night, so now I'm up to the early part of October '97. Pillman's dead, Kane just debuted, and DX is getting ready to take off. Meanwhile, Austin is white-hot looking to regain his I.C. title from Owen, and Bret has just a month left to go until Montreal. It's been fun watching the changes made to the main event scene that year. Every so often you'll see someone in the crowd with a BCA figure in hand, still in the packaging. Series 1 and 2 must've been available at the concession stands for months because it wasn't until recently that I began to see Austin's debut figure from Series 4 (despite the fact it was released back in July). It's around this period, during the fall of '97, that I think the Attitude Era truly began to take shape.

I def think 97 is the year when u see WWF/E transition into the monster that makes it take over thru til Today

I agree with you guys. 1997 is such a great year, there’s so many changes that occur between the start of the year and the end of the year. Definitely the dawn of the Attitude Era.

abdicated.tripod.com/zonenews4.htmlTomorrow marks 20 years since that report was shared on the old Action Figure Zone News website. I remember like it was yesterday watching the original pay-per-view broadcast of WrestleMania XIV in my parent's bedroom. I've still got the VHS recording of it somewhere, but I'm sure the picture quality is atrocious compared to WWE Network. I can't recall if I got any new figures at that time, but it humors me to this day to think that I would've needed to buy two BCA figures to be eligible for that $10 promotion. The inexpensiveness of Jakks BCA figures is one aspect of the past that I wish I could bring back as a figure collector in 2018.

I have a special place in my heart for the BCA line as I was a freshman when they came out and it made me feel like a kid again buying the Hasbro's. Except this time with the attitude era everybody was into wrestling and I remember a couple friends of mine who never liked wrestling getting into it. I still remember we skipped school one day to make a figure run. I was after the signature series line with LOD, Golddust, and of course Austin with the Austin 3:16 shirt and was able to get every one of them along with a bunch of others. I think I spent around $100 for figures that day and my friends thought I was nuts. Looking back on them some of them were pretty bad but that era of figures from their start in 95-96 until the end will always be special to me. I still wish the Warrior from WM 12 would have had all the detail the pic on the box showed but still loved that figure.

Kudos to whomever it was that scooped up this lot of newer BCA figures on eBay recently. It's not often you see the Grudge Brawlers Christian (top right) out in the wild. Same for the Stunt Action Ring Chris Benoit (top left) and Eddie Guerrero exclusives together loose. It sold for $55 shipped which isn't too bad all things considered. Also pictured: Backlash Series 1 Edge, The Rock, Triple H & Chris Benoit Backlash Series 2 Stone Cold, Booker T & A-Train Backlash Series 3 Chris Jericho, Billy Gunn & Big Show Credit: jvscruffy0 for the pics.

I love that black/pink/blue Edge gear. What a good attire choice for a figure. Always cool to see uncommon post-BCA BCAs since they were kinda overlooked at that time.

This seems like the best place to ask, is the Ken Shamrock BCA figure the only figure with kickpads instead of boots?
