I think for display purposes, the Slammers are fine, especially ones that don't include additional joints such as Kane, the Patriot, Pillman, etc. I have a Dude Love slated to go into my display once I finish rearranging my office, and even with his weird arm, I still think it's one of the better, if not best, examples of Dude Love in figure form. That said, I wouldn't touch Series 1 with a 40 foot pole. Good get on that Yokozuna. Finding one of him at a price I'm willing to pay has been almost as big a thorn in my side as Razor Ramon. Thinking about it, I wonder why they felt having a debut figure of such big proportions like Kane debut as a Slammer. Anyone know how long it was between the Slammers series 2 Kane and his first non-slammer figure? I remember looking like crazy for that Kane. I initially found it in that grudge match 2 pack with Taker. Being 8 at the time I could care less about the difference between Slammers and regular BCAs, I just wanted Kane lol. I had so many Kanes. Had a few of the long sleeved one too There was a lot of hype behind the Slammers figures, including having them featured in ads on WWF programming. I would imagine that everything was done to bolster the line. A non-Slammers version of Kane (with two sleeves, as part of both Fully Loaded Series 1 and the 2 Tuff Series 3 2-Pack with Corporate Mankind) was released to stores about six months after Slammers Series 2 hit.

Does anyone have some tips for fixing the loose joints on the BCAs? I plan to start doing some customs so I'm not adverse to splitting the bodies open and doing what I have to, but I was just curious what other people have found to be effective. My Razor Ramon's left arm is just completely limp at this point, although it can be temporarily popped back into place.

I don't know how much validity to it there is, but I'd heard tell around the net for years (and apparently it's gotten around, as it was mentioned on the Broski podcast this week) that the Slammers line was being positioned to replace the Superstars line as the primary focus going forward, going so far as to even be the explanation for both the delay in and some of the more interesting sculpts in Series 6 (Blackman, Jarrett, etc.)

They changed it to screws after that, I think with series 3. The screws are better, because any figures from the first couple of sets that I’ve seen all have loose arms and legs.

Has anyone ever had any luck contacting a seller on eBay and asking them to portion out part of a lot? I'm new to this game, and damned if some of my nearest finds have been part of a lot I don't need/want to go all in on.

Ive tried with gi joe and wwf hasbros before. It's worth asking though. Just say you are interested in buying a figure in the lot

Just trying to gauge people's interest. Would you like to see BCA make a return with current superstars or past stars dating back from when BCA ended until now?
I have been thinking a lot lately on how a Seth Rollins or Dolph Ziggler would look in BCA form. JAKKS still holds a WWE license and how awesome would it be if a modern BCA set found it's way into stores.

Would probably buy them all, if they are done as true to the originals as Mattel’s retros are to Hasbros. Although I don’t see it happening because for some reason BCA figures aren’t seen in the same light as Hasbros and even LJN.

The same could be said of Superstars Series 6 around that time. I think the only way it will ever be proven is if an actual prototype figure emerges with Slammers parts. As you said, certain sculpts lend themselves well to Slammers comparisons. HHH's arms are eerily similar to Slammers Series 2 Shawn Michaels.

Has anyone ever seen this before? I certainly haven't.
Thinking about getting it for my collection.

Sure, that was exclusive to BJ's Wholesale Club in October '99. It once retailed for $9.99. There was another 3-Pack of Deadly Games Series re-releases featuring HHH/Edge/Road Dogg Jesse James. All of the figures are identical to the singles releases, with one exception - the 3-Packs don't include weapons.

I loved those wholesale exclusive packs. "What figures do we have lying around in excess that we could package in with a retooled Austin/Rock/etc.?"
Things I doubt we'll hear about in The Toys That Made Us.

I probably wouldn't care for it since I don't care for the Hasbro retros out now with current superstars.

JAKKS still holds a WWE license and how awesome would it be if a modern BCA set found it's way into stores. I don't know that I'd be into that. There's a huge part of the BCA appeal to me that's very nostalgic, to a time and a place and all that. I'd almost say a majority of the appeal, to think on it. Beyond that, the tangible qualities that kind of keep that appeal alive for me as a collector now don't translate to the appeal of a modern line. I'm fine with the Mattel retros because I don't have as big an emotional connection with the Hasbro line as I do the BCAs, but even those are a serious step up in overall quality and look from the line that inspires them, and the stalwart, dug in heels of my love for the BCAs aren't willing to bend on concessions to "bring back" the line with a modern twist. I never bought a single Real-Scan, new body mold BCA when those landed.

Pretty sure we don't have those here in Arizona. Thanks!
