Bought my first bone cruncher in almost 20 years over the weekend. Signature Series 1 Stone Cold. Was a toss up between that and the 2 Tuff Rock and Owen set

Shane McMahons first bca figure was the one in the blue pinstripe suit. I always thought it looked hideous. Did he actually wear this on tv? Hey I liked that figure 😂 I didn’t think it was too bad of a likeness for being a pre-scan era figure. The suit was kinda eh but I liked it. My only gripe was that the microphone was permanently stuck in his hand!

zappa2510I like it. Looks like it would be more playable than the real Bossman figure.

the only improvements to be made to that bossman would be his hands painted black and a hole drilled in the fist hand to hold his nightstick. otherwise, looks way better than the official bca figure. which was regarded as one of the best figures of its time

Still, I think I used that Bossman quite a lot, but in hardcore matches.

Not sure if I ever posted about it here, but last summer, I stumbled upon the Owen in a cast from the Family Feud two pack at a flea market for something like $3.00. I've always counted that one among some of the holier BCA grails, and so I went all in, in spite of the set remaining incomplete.
As luck would have it, I stopped in to a local shop today that occasionally buys collections out, and among a relative bunch of duds, there was an all pink Bret, just waiting to be snatched up. Deal was 3 for 10, so I went in on a Ring Rage 15.5 Bischoff and a slightly worn ECW Toymakers Sabu I didn't particularly need to complete the pair. Very excited about this.

I collected this line when it was out and even find some that I didn't know were even made but does anyone know why they rereleased so many of the same figures? for one the regular black undertaker was used a ton with only slight variations if best.

I believe that same figure was released 23 times I think it's because wrestling was everywhere in the late 90s and it was easier to keep producing repeats than create whole new figures for smaller retailers who wanted to stay hip and up with pop culture. I mean even Ace Hardware carried hasbros and later Jakks BCA

Jakks was churning out product at one of, if not the penultimate peak of wrestling's popularity. If you're familiar with what Mattel is doing now with the Top Picks line, the same theory applies to Jakks method of assortment, and it's 100% smart business when you're in the business of a product whose chief target demographic is kids. Every single day is some kid's first day watching wrestling. When that bug hits and they decide to go all in, you absolutely want to make sure that your Austins, your Rocks, your Undertakers, and anyone else at the top of the food chain is waiting on the shelves when that kid gets to the store. As for the particular molds, that's just common sense cost structuring. If the mold works, overall, and can suffice to produce a product that's generally consistent with the televised product, give or take the time frame from manufacturing to shelved for sale, why invest unneeded money into producing a new one?

Anyone else look back and admire the creativity Jakks put into the Backlash series 5 Val Venis? 😂 They really tried to make an RTC Val but it fell a bit short. I wish they’d have made the rest of RTC to go along with Val and Stevie

For the record I love BCAs. Im only missing the Razor & Diesel 2 pack, Blue Blazer, and the white tights Yokozuna. But that figure was so bad I left it MOC its hanging on my wall lol. But I will give them credit for trying to keep the BCAs up to date and honestly wish they kept going. I hated the TTLs. I got the entrance stage as a gift and only bought the ones neccessary to active it.

I was talking to a guy at a convention a few weeks ago. He used to buy full cases from Jakks and he used to get the buying sheets in advance. He said the amount of guys we didn’t get were crazy. He said that there were so many people like essa Rios, Nicole bass, and Patterson and Briscoe that were listed on the sheets that would just get replaced with rocks, stone cold, triple h, etc.

Haven't decided on the best Stevie head to use yet. Glad I got all the white shirt Savio Vegas I need to make Los Boricuas before the Major Podcast made the prices for those go up.

Bought my first bone cruncher in almost 20 years over the weekend. Signature Series 1 Stone Cold. Was a toss up between that and the 2 Tuff Rock and Owen set Great choice. Signature Series 1 Stone Cold is as classic as it gets. Rock and Owen is a surprisingly easy find nowadays. I'm not sure how you all felt about the boss man figure but I've always been disappointed in it. Yea I used it in back in the day but only when I had to. So Big Boss man is the elite Mattel head and accessories. Body is Billy Gunn casual clothes. I feel like I would actually play with this figure and give him a good run. More posts coming later! I like this a lot. Would've been nice to have an alternative to the same old BCA Boss Man, but then again I can't really complain about the Jakks figure. What it lacks in playability it makes up for in attention to detail. The facial resemblance isn't strong, but I'd still rank it in the top five for overall sculpting. Not sure if I ever posted about it here, but last summer, I stumbled upon the Owen in a cast from the Family Feud two pack at a flea market for something like $3.00. I've always counted that one among some of the holier BCA grails, and so I went all in, in spite of the set remaining incomplete. Deal was 3 for 10, so I went in on a Ring Rage 15.5 Bischoff and a slightly worn ECW Toymakers Sabu I didn't particularly need to complete the pair. Very excited about this. Excellent price for Owen. One of the most underrated repaints in all of the line. Love the other figures, too. Bischoff is an incredible likeness, and for my money his best ever. Got the Breakdown X-Pac figure with the TV for my modest bone cruncher collection, which now stands at 2 I like the street gear theme going on here... Anyone else look back and admire the creativity Jakks put into the Backlash series 5 Val Venis? 😂 They really tried to make an RTC Val but it fell a bit short. I wish they’d have made the rest of RTC to go along with Val and Stevie Steven Richards should've been top priority. I shudder to think that was Jakks' way of throwing us a bone, knowing they would never get around to TTL Val. Thanks for sharing that. I'd love to pick that guy's brain and see if he could remember any exact series. I'm sure the BCA-to-TTL transition caused a lot of the WWF midcarders to miss out on a potential figure.
