Anyone else look back and admire the creativity Jakks put into the Backlash series 5 Val Venis? đ They really tried to make an RTC Val but it fell a bit short. I wish theyâd have made the rest of RTC to go along with Val and Stevie Steven Richards should've been top priority. I shudder to think that was Jakks' way of throwing us a bone, knowing they would never get around to TTL Val.I never thought of it like that before! It makes total sense though, since Stevie was the "real" RTC figure we ever got.

Jakks was churning out product at one of, if not the penultimate peak of wrestling's popularity. If you're familiar with what Mattel is doing now with the Top Picks line, the same theory applies to Jakks method of assortment, and it's 100% smart business when you're in the business of a product whose chief target demographic is kids. Every single day is some kid's first day watching wrestling. When that bug hits and they decide to go all in, you absolutely want to make sure that your Austins, your Rocks, your Undertakers, and anyone else at the top of the food chain is waiting on the shelves when that kid gets to the store. As for the particular molds, that's just common sense cost structuring. If the mold works, overall, and can suffice to produce a product that's generally consistent with the televised product, give or take the time frame from manufacturing to shelved for sale, why invest unneeded money into producing a new one? So essentially the same thing I said just using bigger words lol I just donât understand how Mattel is so good at it though lol. Mattel May release alot the main stars but they are good at making NXT, Mid Card and Female Superstars. To be honest, they have pretty much done everyone on the main roster for the past five years EXCEPT for Aksana. Iâm still mad they never made Aksana. Other than her, they made everyone on Raw and Smackdown plus some. I can give Jakks the credit that they made some BCAs and some TTLs. Jeff Jarrett, Taka, Jackie, Terri, Mark Henry (and a bunch of others) all made it in BCA but not TTL. Then you got people like Mideon, Rios, Buchanan, The Kat and Malenko who never got TTLs. The roster wasnât so huge that Jakks couldnât have made these people who were featured every week. Even into the RA era they still missed regular stars. Mattel is just killing it out there. I wish Jakks would have had the same mentality. They certainly had enough sub series to produce at least one figure of each person.

ChicagoI was really happy with my X-Pac purchase until I displayed him with Austin and realised it was pretty much the same goddamn figure! Just purchased the 2 Tuff Kane and Mankind pack, which was one of the first sets I bought as a kid, so happy to have that again

Mattel has had 3 main lines running for 8 years, no new body styles (only off shoot sets), a new assortment of figures every month. And Jarrett almost had a TTL though so did Shawn Stasiak and Dean Malenko. Bull Buchanan technically did get a BCA figure as a member of the Truth Commission. As for Mark Henry he got a figure during the time period TTL were still being produced in the Final count line.

Haven't decided on the best Stevie head to use yet. Glad I got all the white shirt Savio Vegas I need to make Los Boricuas before the Major Podcast made the prices for those go up. Why not just use the TTL Stevie?

They covered a lot of talent in BCA but a lot of them had potential to be TTL figures. Heck Buchanan was featured on television from 2000-2003 in various gimmicks and never got anything. I think Jakks focused way too much on weird sub series, rereleased ect to make anybody but Triple H, The Rock, Taker and Austin. And take Henry that we mentioned. His last BCA figure was what 98? That Final Count was in 2002/03? Thatâs way too long between figures. Granted his Sexual Chocolate gimmick probably wasnât kid friendly, he was featured heavily (no pun) on tv. Iâd rather take Mattelâs body reuse over having a lack of roster. Sure BCAs had a wide character range but Mattel has kept it real with covering everyone.

A wonderful post day
2 Tuff 3 Kane and Mankind Off the Mat box set - Rock, Austin, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn with title belts
I wanna say that draws a line under my little nostalgia project but you know me, you know the life I live
Is there a Triple H bone cruncher in street gear with the black DX shirt? I've just noticed I have X-Pac, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn in the same shirts

I've been on a quest now for a little over a year to track down my four most wanted BCA figures that I never owned as a child - the Blue Blazer, Yokozuna, Razor Ramon, and Diesel. I've since managed to acquire two Blazers, two Diesels, and a white pants Yokozuna, but Razor has been eluding me all the while. I'm happy to say he's finally coming home - I managed to win an overlooked auction for a loose one around $10 shipped. More than I'd have liked to have spent, and I'll still feel slightly off having carded and loose editions of Blazer and Diesel but not Razor, but he wasn't getting any easier to find, so I figured I may as well jump when I had the chance.
Should be in this weekend. I'm on pins and needles.

Anyone else have trouble finding loose ones in the flea markets for decent prices? Five years ago, I remember guys giving batches of BCAs away. You could easily make a deal for 5 for $10. Now Iâm coming across 3 for $10 and most of the time they are beaten up and loose jointed.
Maybe Iâm cheap but not many of these are worth much sans for some mentioned in the above post. There are a few CL lots for sale but theyâre like 20 figures for $120. Way too much imo.

In the UK you get the rare seller selling off a bunch of them for cheap (usually mixed with TTL and RA) but honestly you never see them around anymore - not half decent ones anyway that's why I gave up collecting them

Haven't been to any flea markets lately, but prices for BCAs seem to be going up across the board. Nothing wrong with being a little picky, especially if you're not completely convinced that you're getting a good deal. I'm always cautious and second-guessing myself when it comes to buying loose BCA figures.

Wait it was supposed to be a BAF set? Lol. I didnât even know they had that kind of stuff back then. Yeah, it sure seems that way. Jakks experimented with this concept on a much smaller scale in the series after that; if you bought any two male figures in S.T.O.M.P. Series 3, you could assemble a bonus vehicle, or as Jakks called it "an interlocking battleboard." My guess is that it just wasn't feasible for Series 2, for whatever reason. Probably the size and scale of the shark cage pieces proved difficult for them, especially in the packaging department. If they were considering a buildable item or vehicle as they did for Series 3, maybe make it a gnarly surfboard instead lol.

I LOVE that Austin scan, especially when in person, it looks like his ears are pointed xDDDDD It's the all-time best worst head sculpt of the BCA era. Specifically, the Live Wire Series 1 version.
