ellisdLove the collection pics. The BCA bug is no joke. I'm also trying to fill in gaps where I can. Pretty sure it was therealworldchampion's custom Mankind that left a great impression here. Whenever I see that Backlash 4 HHH in jeans it always makes me want to attempt a '99 British Bulldog fix-up with it. Double J and Shane customs are awesome. Definite improvements over what Jakks gave us. DOA Crush would've been fun, too. Is that the S.T.O.M.P. head?

Yeah, that’s the S.T.O.M.P. crush head on a 8Ball body.....or is it Skull? I know one came with Chains and the other was only in the Best of Series and has a white shirt. That Bulldog would be a cool fixup. I may try it if I find another Triple H. I always like that Triple H. Although it’s not really a great depiction of Triple H, it is a very cool figure.

Skull is the only DOA member in black gear to come with a white undershirt. The Slammers HBK lower body used for that HHH looks hideous from an accuracy standpoint, but the legs always seem to move well on those figures and that kind of thing can win me over. I'm no customizer, but I would think the thickness of the chaps goes great with just about any BCA torso. I never really liked how, for instance, 2 Tuff 3 Austin had the jacked upper body (including those god-awful Brian Christopher arms) and scrawny little legs. Way too top heavy for me.

Those little legs are the reason I don’t really like any of the Test figures, other than the 2 I have in my collection. He always looked funny with a big upper body and his arms out like they are and those little legs. But the one with the Slammers HBK legs is great. Just wish it had the designs on the legs.

Was there ever a Jerry Lawler BCA? Yes, there were two altogether. His debut Jakks figure was released in Superstars Series 4 (a.k.a. "Bad Boys") in black/red attire, then a repaint in blue/white was issued for 2 Tuff Series 2 (two-pack with Brian Christopher in his black/orange "Too Sexy" gear).

So as an update to my last post, here are some of my customs that I’ve done through the years. Most of these have been shared here before but there might be a few that haven’t. DOA Crush J Jarrett without shirt Shane McMahon (using Blackman body to give Shane BCA legs) Helmsley (was never a fan of the original Helmsley body and arms) Mankind Bulldog (thought I would see how a new torso looked on him) Patriot ( non Slammer) Mr McMahon Some Jakks Real Scan customs These were my custom Raven and Eliminators from back when I was a kid playing with BCAs. They need to be cleaned up and repainted.

ellisdIt's really cool how a torso change or a swap of the arms can improve the look of a figure. Hunter Hearst-Helmsley is a perfect example of that, with the Sid torso and Headbangers arms. Love the Mankind with Phineas Godwinn arms and Road Dogg legs. Bulldog is an interesting one, because initially it kind of takes me aback by how small the head looks on that HHH torso, yet it's such a good choice for giving him some more upper body bulk/definition. Patriot BCA is class work; the Billy Gunn upper body fits him so well. Nice little Vince fix-up there. The Real Scan customs definitely add another layer to your work. Would love to see how Rock might look with his Rocky Maivia legs, just to break up the monotony of using Sid legs (great as they are). Of course, you know I can't help but gush over John Cena's pieced-together parts. It still just about blows my mind. Flair being able to chop with LOD arms is fantastic. Benoit looks scary good with the Off The Mat torso. With BCA, scale is always going to be an issue, but Taker is clearly utilizing the right parts for him, so kudos again. Love Tazz's orange boots. A full roster of BCA legends would be something else. Taker in gray seems like it wouldn't be all that complex to make, but your execution is flawless. Same for Slaughter and Jake, really. Those are three of your finest customs, I believe (along with the many other Golden Era customs you've shared with us over the years). Makes me wish that Classic Superstars nostalgia was in during the late '90s, because I'd love to think Jakks would've attempted a Boss Man similar to yours. Was the Taker in all black one that you thought of using a Real Scan head for? I can't remember if I've seen that one before. Roddy with the Austin t-shirt upper body looks factory made. Love the Patriot torso for Rey. Played-with customs are also a lot of fun to look back on. Takes me back to that feeling you'd get as a kid when you thought you were really onto something. When I converted my 2 Tuff 4 Billy Gunn into a very crude Mikey Whipwreck custom, I thought I had it all. The Eliminators and Raven certainly look to have held up well. Again, the Frankenstein-esque creations that you come up with never cease to amaze me. Great stuff, as always. Thanks for sharing those again.

ellisdYour posts are definitely giving me the itch to get out to a flea market, disregard overall condition, and just grab up a pile of BCAs to begin cracking open and improving. A de-Slammered Patriot is a project I've wanted to take on for a while now. I'd like to do the same to Pillman, to be honest. Two great figures that just get killed by a giant switch on the back. Your Helmsley fix almost makes it look like a dead on size up of the one that came with the mini rings. That's kinda neat, as I always thought that would have been a vast improvement.

Again, the Frankenstein-esque creations that you come up with never cease to amaze me. Great stuff, as always. Thanks for sharing those again. Thanks! I always thought Bulldog should’ve had a larger torso, luckily I found a Hardcore Holly with a close match for the skintone. I agree the head does look a bit small. I had seen someone on Facebook make BCA fixups with Slammers Patriot and Pillman. I can’t remember what parts they used but I knew when I saw it that I wanted to try it too. I still need to get a Slammers Pillman to use. Also would like to try a Dude Love at some point. What can I say, I love those Sid legs lol. The Triple H and Rock real scans are my 2nd attempt at these. My first ones I sold when I sold off a bunch of my BCAs years ago. When I started buying BCAs again, they were 2 that I knew I had to redo and add to my collection. I thought those arms worked well for Flair chops and the Nature Boy strut lol. Thanks, I’m really happy with how those Classic Superstars turned out. I’m hoping to do some more of those soon. I used the Backlash Edge for Mysterio because of that Edge being shorter than most BCAs. The all black Taker was another one that I made years ago, but when I sold off my figures somehow he stuck around. I bet he would look good with a real scan head. ellisdYour posts are definitely giving me the itch to get out to a flea market, disregard overall condition, and just grab up a pile of BCAs to begin cracking open and improving. Your Helmsley fix almost makes it look like a dead on size up of the one that came with the mini rings. That's kinda neat, as I always thought that would have been a vast improvement. Thanks! As I mentioned above, I had seen someone else make ‘de-Slammered’ Patriot and Pillman, and knew I wanted to try those too. I never liked that original Helmsley torso and arms. This does bare a good resemblance to the mini ring Helmsley now that you mention it.

Kind of mad that The Toys That Made Us skipped over BCA pretty much. Aside from calling them garbage.

I want to wish a happy birthday to my fellow board members born on today's date. Hope you all have a good one. "The Gothic Superstar" Ronin @bahufmw Venom_Spewer @greg10 hulk86 @iamphenomenal marklud @mattv1120 @murrayyyyy @ptcollector r1ch1e @thecameron81 wyleecyotee To celebrate, I thought I'd look back and see if I had anything to share from this day as it relates to the Jakks BCA era (and slightly beyond). In other words... This Day in BCA History: November 20 1998- Aaron Morgan at Figure Zone suggests Best of '98 Series 1 will include: The New Age Outlaws, LOD 2000, The Headbangers, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Shawn Michaels. Ringside Collection Series 3 is rumored to have names such as: Shane McMahon, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, Debra McMichael, a Jim Ross re-release, a Sgt. Slaughter re-release, Jacqueline, and a WWF Cameraman (names in bold are the most probable). Last but not least, Ripped and Ruthless Series 3 is rumored to feature the likes of: Ken Shamrock, "Marvelous" Marc Mero, Owen Hart, and Chyna.
- Tomart.com indicates S.T.O.M.P. Series 3 has recently been released to stores. This space-themed wave consists of: Kane, Undertaker, LOD 2000 members Hawk and Animal, "Marvelous" Marc Mero, and Sable.
- A guy named LoneWol135 at rec.toys.action-figures.discuss seems to think Stone Cold Steve Austin's various bathroom beatdowns (on Brian Pillman and Goldust) are the inspiration behind there being a toilet accessory in the new "Back Alley Brawl" Grapple Gear playset.
- A guy named bChen from the above archived post thinks Jakks missed the boat on a BCA 4-Pack dedicated to the many faces of Goldust, including: Marilyn Dust, New Years Baby Dust, Dusty Dust, Flair Dust, Shaft Dust, or his personal favorite - S&M Dust.
1999- Aaron Morgan at Figure Zone shares MOC images of all six figures from Maximum Sweat Series 4. This wave of non-BCA Jakks figures includes: B.A. Billy Gunn, Droz, Kane, Road Dogg, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Undertaker.
- Reptile at Action Figure Resource passes along an article written by Brian Lutz about new Jakks figures with an accompanying photo gallery on WWF.com. The figures shown and/or mentioned in the piece include: the Internet-Active Stone Cold Steve Austin figure, Back Talkin' Crushers Series 1, Titan Tron Live Series 2, TTL Double Slam Series 2, and TTL SmackDown! Series 2.
- A guy named Chris (username RThomas419) at rec.toys.action-figures.discuss recommends a couple different referee figures for someone in need. He says Target has plenty of the Raw Is War 4-Pack right now featuring Mankind in a black-and-white striped referee shirt with Mr. Socko, Stone Cold Steve Austin in camouflage gear, Undertaker, and The Rock. It retails for $19.99. Also, Toysrus still has the first series of Toy Biz WCW figures in stock. Kevin Nash (at $5.99) comes with a referee figure in a blue shirt, and he says the scale is pretty much in line with the WWF Jakks figures.
2000- Tomart.com previews the upcoming Lita and Titan Tron Live Kurt Angle figures which are exclusive to the new Attitude Points program. For more on how to collect them, please visit JakksWWF.com.
This day in history (coming up shortly): the 2nd anniversary of this post! Question to @chicago - Do you recall any other news about a Ringside Collection series 3? You mention some names that were bantered around including the Stooges, and the series was obviously never produced. Kind of mad that The Toys That Made Us skipped over BCA pretty much. Aside from calling them garbage. This peeved me as well. Luckily, if you are jonesing for a history of BCA figures, yours truly made a History of BCA (1996-1997) that you can find on Youtube or this thread somewhere. And I just finished the 1998 BCA script (thanks to Chicago 's outstanding and unparalleled level of research) so that will be a thing very soon
