Biff Slamkovich™ That's a fascinating story! Thank you for sharing it. I remember going to my grandparents' house each year for Christmas in the '90s. Some of my fondest memories. I couldn't tell you when I received my first BCA figure. I was basically an on-and-off wrestling fan as a kid who had been exposed to other figure lines over the previous five years (Galoob, Hasbro, OSFTM, and JusToys all preceded Jakks for me). When Superstars Series 1 was released in the summer of '96, I was 7 years old and I don't recall keeping up with the shows at that time. I remember flipping over to the scrambled PPV channel the night of WrestleMania XII and listening in to the Ironman match. I don't think I got into WWF again regularly until Spring '97. I know I had various figures from the first couple of Jakks series. Series 2 Ultimate Warrior stands out as one figure I had that suffered a broken arm early on and was never able to fix and/or replace. I would've played with it more had it been fully intact. I had the first Jakks Monster Ring, too, which at some point developed a huge crack down the center. I must've stepped in it, which I guess is better than being impaled by it lol. Even though I would be spoiled throughout the year with toys I wanted thanks to my parents, my most vivid memories are of receiving figures as Christmas gifts. Christmas '97 is when I got the Championship Title Series box set with the first Jakks belts. I've seen pics of at least one Grapple Gear Series 1 set I received for Christmas '98 (either the dumpster and/or commentator's set). Some of my last BCA figures were had by Christmas '99. That's when I got 2 Tuff Series 5 Viscera and Undertaker. Most of my haul that year was TTL figures, though, and I moved on from BCA rather quickly. I wasn't a hugely-devoted BCA collector as a kid - they were just what I had to be played with, and because so many were made, I ended up having more of them than any other style of figure. It wasn't until years later that I developed a true passion for them. Nearly all of my childhood toys, including BCAs, were given away by my parents when I had outgrown them as a pre-teen in the early '00s. My interest in recollecting them took shape in the latter half of '07 when I was 18-going-on-19. I had originally wanted to start an eBay store where I could specialize in selling wrestling figures, but it didn't take long for me to realize that collecting them was of greater importance to me. I got hooked on them again, and now as an adult collector, I found that I could connect with the toys in a way different from playing with them as a kid. Researching the line has been a great pleasure of mine over the past decade or so. My current collection has grown to easily twice the size of my childhood collection. I don't know where I would be right now if I still had all of my original BCAs and never had the desire to buy them back. Richer, probably lol.

Great question!
I vividly remember seeing BCAs for the first time at a Toys R Us. I had been a big LJN collector and was into the first few Hasbro sets but then felt that I was "too old" for action figures so I stopped buying. I remember going to TRU with a buddy to look for Playstation games and we wandered around the rest of the store and I stumbled upon series 1. I was still a big wrestling fan and really liked them but felt weird about buying them, so I didn't. But I was still interested and kept looking every time I was in a store that sold them, and finally broke down and got a series 2 Undertaker.
With the flood gates opened I tracked down most of series 1-3 but then slowed down. Then in '99 when Jakks started to switch over to Titan Trons, Toys R Us started putting all of the BCAs on clearance. I bought a few, and then a few more, and then a lot more. That got me interested in going back to buy others I had missed over the years and I started tracking down as many as I could. And here I am, 25 years after thinking I was "too old" for wrestling figures, still buying BCAs to add to my collection!

Chicago So crazy seeing all those Billy Gunns together, and equally crazy how awful those head sculpts were aside from the new BCA one. The Mattel clothes look pretty nice on the BCA! Scott! Welcome to the crazy world of BCA! The Paul Wight figure is really nice and represents his iconic debut. A shame we never got him in ring gear in the original BCA line though. Godfather, Kane, Road Dogg, Bossman, Gangrel and Christian are all also top notch! Biff Slamkovich™ Loved reading the posts on this subject so far. I never had many wrestling figures as a kid outside of a few Hasbros, so I used figures from all toy lines in my fed. The "Make My Day" Leo TMNT figure served as my version of Bret Hart because of the similar attire. The Batman Forever Two-face was my knock-off Kevin Sullivan, leading the Dungeon of Doom. I remember debuting Kraven The Hunter as my "Giant" to topple Hulkamania. After the Hasbro line ended, I reserved myself to the fact that my wrestling fig fed would basically be made up of all these assorted characters. I was real into the Star Trek TNG Playmates line and went looking at Walmart one Saturday in 1997 with my monthly $10 allowance when, low and behold, I spot WWF Superstars Series 3. Bret! Mankind! Bulldog! They just looked so weird to me. They were bigger than all my other figures. Although intrigued, I passed on them for that reason. It wasnt until maybe a couple weeks later when Zellers (here in Canada) had series 2! Warrior, Vader, Owen, Taker! I picked up Warrior because he was my all-time favorite at the time. He defeated The Vorgon (from Star Trek TNG, and my version of Goldust) that evening to become the I-C champion. I believe the glow in the dark Taker was my next, then Vader and eventually all of series 3 and it snowballed. The Badd Blood boxset was one of my favorites. I didnt yet have internet so I read about upcoming figures in Toyfare. The end of BCA was it for me. I HATED how the TTL line looked. Yuck! It wasnt until maybe 4 years ago or so that I began to get back into the line and pick up the ones I didnt ever have as well as replace the ones that were janky. That's my story. Onward! I was never a fan of the BCA Vader head, so after getting an additional Legends 10 figure in a lot, I wanted to use that head on the BCA but the deep peg hole and cropped neck did not work. There was a huge gap. So, using an extra BCA Vader head, I cut and sanded it to insert it up into the Mattel head while keeping the lower portion of the BCA head to fit perfectly back on to the BCA body. Once glued in place, it looks like this: The end result, including the entrance headgear: " alt=" "] It's also swappable, so I can have 2 versions! I also found use for a JCS HHH head: And finished a red version of a marvelously tanned Marvelous Marc Mero: With the Wildman head for longer hair towards the end of his WWF run I'm also finalizing a BCA Lex Luger.

I'm actually in Canada as well -- Vancouver to be exact.
And I remember Zellers well. I also got $10 for allowance every month (weird) and would BEG my mom to take me to Zellers so I could see what BCA figs were in stock.
I miss the days of $7.99 figs and $14.99 2-packs!
Edit: That red Marc Mero is beautiful.

Edit: That red Marc Mero is beautiful. Zellers was a staple for me in the BCA/TTL days - I remember my Sherwood Park zellers got CASES of Slammer 2 and Signature Series 2 - legit like 10-12 of each figure. It was amazing, Kane sold out first but they had New Age Outlaws, Taker, both Dude Loves , Taka, Both HBKs, Patriot and Pillman well into 2002 - I used to get them here and there for trading members on AFR. I recall they had a crazy sale and I got some Zebra print HBK, Dude love and a Taka for maybe $10 altogether and traded them for DS5 APA After that, for RAs it was like every 7th set lol - I do remember getting the RA Nicky, Angle and Victoria from there (22 or 23 can't remember the series) and that was the last Jakks I ever saw there.

Looks fantastic mate! Is it just me, or does it feel like the Mattel belts are more suited to these figures than they are to the Mattels they come with? They look perfect with BCA's.

WCW Road Wild '97 Lex Luger I decided to go with Headbanger arms because I liked the Mero legs and all other arms looked too bulky in comparison.

1998 Jeff Jarrett prior before he really got pissed off. This almost became a hate figure because I wasted about 471 eyes decals before I was happy with it. I actually mixed the color and painted these eyes on the decal sheet before applying them. It worked surprisingly well. Turns out I wasnt happy with the eyes yet afterall, so I got rid of the decals and hand-painted them. It took me about 6 hours and 3,579 tries. Persistence is key. And also insanity. Comparison shot with superstars series 6

Hi guys, I have loved reading through every page of this thread and now my turn to post! I am based in England, just recently gotten back into collecting these but have found that BCA figures still sealed mint on card are extremely hard to find over here and certainly not at a reasonable price on places like Ebay etc. Is there anyone on here who can recommend UK sellers or sites where i can build my sealed collection for a reasonable price, or are there any sellers on here that can ship to UK and sell me some at a reasonable price please. Many thanks guys.

Did the blonde Paul Bearer come with an urn? Was he only released once? Did he still carry an urn on tv as a blonde?
