I would be extremely interested to hear definitively what the significance of the WAR TONY variant is.
Are there any other legit BCA variants like this, excluding blue/purple pads Billy Gunn? I don't remember there being very many. I mean, my friend had an Al Snow that was missing the "HELP ME!" print on his head, but I believe thats a factory error.

There are A LOT of simple variants (different arms/legs) that go unnoticed by most collectors unless they draw attention to themselves, such as the many different parts used for several of Goldust's earlier releases (Superstars Series 1, Survivor Series 4-pack).
Special Edition Series 3 HHH with the Ripped and Ruthless Series 2 head is one legitimate variant that would be hard to miss, and I actually think it is an improvement. I paid around $11 shipped for the MOC figure on eBay because I had only ever seen it a few times.
Another that comes to mind is Vince's commentator figure with black and also gray-colored hair. There was a story, maybe more of a figure news report, years ago (around '97, I believe) which stated Vince did not want figures of himself with mostly gray hair, so many of the Raw Is War #1 4-packs with gray hair were halted during production and a limited number reached stores.
I'll try to find exactly what it said tomorrow as I know I wrote it down somewhere.
Oh, and as far as the "War Tony" thing goes, an old Figure Zone report may clear up the controversy surrounding Ross' only BCA figure. Credit to FZ's Aaron Morgan (wherever he is now) for this October 16th, 1998, report:

"Also,if they put WAR ZONE, it would be a replica of a real wwf product, and they would have to pay for that too."
That doesn't make sense. Why would Jakks who is making WWF figures have to pay the WWE to put the War Zone logo on?

Don't shoot the messenger lol, but I agree that nothing about the decision to run "War Tony" makes any sense.
Knowing Jakks, it probably was just a really big mistake or gaffe by whoever was in control of the process, but then how do you explain its journey to production without anyone noticing the error?
S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 is/was commonly referred to as "War Zone" and the WWF had a video game by the same name that was released shortly before the Ringside Collection Series 2 Jim Ross figure, so there really aren't any excuses for not printing the correct word.
If I had to guess at this point, I would go with it being a really unfortunate error that has no comical explanation.

It turns out that the Headbangers wrestling buddies were shown at Toy Fair 1998. Here is a picture of Sable holding her Ripped and Ruthless Series 2 prototype figure: Check out that prototype Dude Love doll.

the picture of Sable says "in plastic and in the flesh". Were Ripped & Ruthless supposed to have "flesh" on them? Because by 1998, Sable sure had more towards the plastic end of the spectrum

Touche. This scan from an old Lee's Toy Review mentions a few variants:

I remember buying the Ripped and Ruthless Sable and sitting it on the shelf in my room. It was my favorite Sable figure.
I seen a series 1 razor moc at a flea market this past summer. It's arm had popped off but it was still sealed. The guy said it was an extremely rare factory error and he wanted $25.00 for it. No, i diden't buy it.

It was released in 1997. I believe it was Rocky Miavia with a Yellow Chair.

Yeah, it's basically his debut figure but in black attire. Technically, though, it is a re-release from the first Championship Title Series boxed set, sans the entrance garb. I bought a few MOC figures myself lately on eBay for around $2.40/$2.50 each. It would have been ten total if someone hadn't outbid me on the S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 Undertaker , but I was able to get S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 Ken Shamrock, S.T.O.M.P. Series 2 Stone Cold, Slammers Series 1 Faarooq/Goldust/Mankind/Stone Cold, Slammers Series 2 Kane, and Signature Series 1 Mankind/Stone Cold. Still need Bret and 'Taker from Slammers Series 1 and both LOD figures from Signature Series 1.

Whenever i am looking for a figure i can never find it. As soon as i buy one then i see that figure everywhere.
A few years ago i was looking for series 4 Austin. I was searching Ebay,Flea markets,Yard sales just trying to find one MOC.I finally found one at a yard sale for $3.00 and bought it. The next week when i went to a flea market it seemed like every booth that had wrestling figures had one.
Does this happen to anyone eles or just me?

Jim Ross with the correct "War Zone" jacket, What was the deal with "War Tony," anyway? Jim Ross also commented on it on his blog a long time ago, I thought you were the person who posted about it... Or maybe it was me? I don't know, but the post was over a couple years ago

I bought a series 3 Sid yesterday at Great Escape. I'm thinking about making another custom Hulk Hogan if anyone would be interested in it.

Kane really did deserve a larger torso as, unfortunately, none of his BCA figures were ever a great likeness to the monster that he is/was.
Kurrgan's body is a classic choice, and the painting looks smooth. Does Kane's head fit okay with the thicker neck?

I never liked how Kane's arms were plastic. I would rather them had been rubber. But my guess is that the BCA Kane was pretty much the Slammers Kane, only fixed up to be a BCA.

I used to have so many BCA's, great blog btw. A BCA section would be great. My first was Superstars Series 1 Undertaker.

Exactly, but at least there was a regular version available, unlike four of the six from Slammers Series 2 (Dude, Patriot, Pillman - unless you count his S.T.O.M.P. figure, and Taka). Is there anyone who would have liked more Slammers figures? I would have said definitely not at the time, but I wouldn't mind there being more to choose from now that I'm rebuilding my collection.
