The family of Andre have two separate contracts. Clearly, they are not exclusive OR when the Jakks one ends, the Mattel one ends.

i think it may be a sign that some guys will be made by both... another example is ax... demolition ax is in the mattel line yet bill eadie confirmed long before that jakks will be making him in his masked superstar gimmick... so i guess we will see who else may be in "The Tale of Two Figures"....lol

NOBODY really knows for sure.
I assumed that MAYBE Jakks still has rights to Andre till the end of this year. While Mattel bought rights starting next year. Cause the Jakks one will be out soon while the Mattel Andre isn't expected out till mid of next year. So this kinda makes sense.
Again I'm just assuming.

I've said in the past that is probably all depends on the kind of contract the person has with Mattel & Jakks. If he, she or the estate sign a "Legends" contract with the WWE, I'm pretty sure Mattel has a lock on the only toy company to be able to produced that figure.
I mean both Sabu and Nash had figures made for WWE & TNA in 2006, while both were still under some agreement with TNA. SO I think the possiblity to have a figure from both Mattel and Jakks is obviously possible. The latest Andre the Giant is proof.

i'm sure it all depends on the superstar and contractual ties (if any) they already have to WWE, TNA or other companies.

NWA and NJPW have a contract with Jakks. the andre you see if from when he was in NJPW. They have the rights to that era of Andre but they can't make him in the attire with the single strap. WWE has the rights of andre in the single strap attire but can't make him in his NJPW look.

Technically, since TNA doesn't do real contracts with alot of guys, and only pay by appearance and have a certain amount of dates, they're really just a giant independent company. Most of the guys in TNA could get Mattel figures made of them.

Powers of Pain 83 CS1 has a black singlet with short hair. It is a double strap singet though
