I wonder if Jakks fans are looking through rose-coloured glasses and are jaded because they have invested $1000s + many years to Jakks in building their wrestling collection?
I ask this because if one were being as objective as humanly possible it is clear to see that Jakks has done everything from a business stand-point to piss on their loyal customers.
Mattel has it's flaws, frak it's 9 months into the license. Jakks had 15 years and still make lists like the following:
1. incorrect use of parts - if you've got more accurate parts in the library then use them! 2. no attention to detail - how many Jakks figs are missing designs as "cost cutting measures"? 3. no atttention to scale - Jakks purests will accept that Amazing Red is as tall as Kevin Nash and that Mecha Godzilla Samoa Joe and Cactus Kong are perfectly acceptable. Any comments on their 6-sided toy ring scales folks? 4. no marketing - Jakks staff don't engage the community, they were no-shows at major events like SDCC, and keep pushing back release dates (not for making an improved product mind you) due to Chinese New Year. 5. face scans - the one thing that Jakks perfected, but folks - do you spend $12-$15 for a face scan or for the wrestling toy? Face scans are one thing, but put it on the wrong body and everything looks like crap e.g. Vader using Yoko's body 6. disproportions - balloon heads, balloon arms, small torsos for fat guys like Bubba, unbelieveable. 7. wrestling toys that can't wrestle - Jakks purests love thunder thigh RA/RI which can't even do a decent looking boston crab!!! 8. line-ups - AJ Styles, Samoa Joe?! I love to see these guys wrestle, but do they belong in a LotR line-up? Seriously... 9. sorry to burst your bubble but - someone compared how Mattel's methodoligy for making Kamla and Dusty Rhodes was the same as Jakks, however the difference here is that Mattel's effort looks a million times better. Sorry that's not an OPINION (that seems to be the buzz word now) that's a FACT. 10. If you wanted an accurate figure made by Jakks, you'd have to buy that figure and a few other figures to do some parts swapping etc. So far, I've only switched out knee pads on my Mattel figures because those are the only things that are god-awful about them right now.
But y'know what, screw OPINION and FACT, be objective for a second - how long are Jakks purests going to stay on that sinking ship?

Why should they Mattel doesnt make TNA figures. The other is Classic/Legends fans. Ive spend hundreds of dollars for a collection that Im proud of. A collection that Mattel may or may not be able to replicate. Great Mattel gave us Kerry and Kevin Von Erich. Im glad, they look like great figures. Where is Mattel's Hulk Hogan though? or Ric Flair? Or Jeff Jarrett? Im not gonna sell an entire collection (Jakks) that I enjoy just to buy figures that may or may not me matched by their "better" counterparts.

Whoever designs these figures should have been fired years ago.
How can Jakks consitently choose the wrong parts for figures that they have the correct (or better) parts to use?
They have the UFC shorts that they can give to Sabin along with the kickpads.
They have the correct tall kickpads that they can give to Styles, Hernandez, etc...
Why can't they tool a new small torso (like their UFC figures) for the X-Division guys. Amazing Red being just as big as Hernandez is a disgrace.
This was one of the reasons why I would have liked TNA to have been RA because Jakks actually has the correct parts to use for these guys. Of course Jakks would probably just mis-use the RA parts as well.
Hey Jakks, I still have an open offer to be the part selector for your figures and you won't even have to pay me!!!

I dont want to offend anyone, but I gotta say that jakks really have gotten pretty lazy over the last few years with their wwe/tna product. That being said, I still have, and plan on keeping my jakks items and I will certainly buy a few TNA figs (hogan, sting, etc)
but I basically just got tired of jakks reusing the same molds over and over, and stupid things like jeff hardy being really buff, or paul bearer towering over the undertaker. One thing that also bugs me is how they wont incorporate the extra articulation from the UFC figs into the TNA line
I dont want to sound like a mattel fanboy, but when I look at my shelf of wwe mattel figures, almost every figure has a unique and pretty accurate torso (granted some wrestlers are a little more defined then they should be) but when I look at my jakks wwe/tna stuff, I see the same parts all over
And mattel isnt perfect either, I mean jakks totally trumps them in the accessory department
All in all, I dont want to sound like Im picking sides, im not a mattel or jakks fan, Im a wrestling fan and I just want to see good figures made that are worth what Im paying for

I like jakks and i buy what ones they make that i like... the few folks who beg for proof against mattel then make up excuses when you give them proof such as john cenas chest being on batista, warrior,mr wonderful, rick rude and more... how about the lower half mold...steamboats lower half on jake the snake and rick rude??? well how could that be? oh right they had the exact same builds in real life. oh and the crown jewel here, the lame defense for the kamala dusty roads thing being that when mattel dose it its 1000 times better? really? they did exactly with kamala and dusty what jakks did with kamala and dusty... head switch and lower leg switch... but its 1000 times better because its mattel doing it? i rest my case

One big difference is Mattel only reuses parts when it's appropriate, so that' a big difference. All I know is, I see waaaaaaaaaay more complaining in the Jakks boards than I do in the Mattel boards.

And all signs point to the Classic/Legends line going away after series 2. I'm with you to a degree. I am going to buy Jakks as long as they are making figures for guys like The Guns and AJ, but Jakks failed to get figures made of Steamboat and Savage so it works both ways. No one is suggesting throwing out your Jakks figures. Now if Mattel does a better version then why not replace it on your shelf? Its not about Jakks vs Mattel for me. Its about me being a TNA fan and wishing Jakks actually gave a crapand tried to get better. I'm with CM though, I hope these show up soon...

Oh well, I've come to the conclusion that Jakks just simply doesn't care about these lines, so you don't have to worry, I'm not going to bother complaining anymore, cause all it's gonna do is get you guys all worked up and it won't do any good, because Jakks is just gonna keep on doing what they're doing. I'll just let other people do the complaining for me since nobody has anything to say to them, it's only my comments that get picked on for some reason. Besides, once Jakks s up that Velvet Sky figure, then the sh*t is really gonna hit the fan.

4LK and LJN Arena Win the thread for making me feel like It's not just me
+1 for each.
Why does everyone with a Gi Joe name on the board have to come off like such an ignorant tool. I thought Joe fans HAD to be cool...

Anyway, are the single pack versions of Joe and Mick Foley normal sized?
very disappointed with the two pack scale.

I thought Joe fans HAD to be cool... Well we would rather be Tools than delusional idiots who think TNA is good and actually doing things right. I was please with Jakks when the re-released series one wave 2. I do not think I will be picking any of these up though. Back it up with facts, how is he ignorant? What is it he is being ignorant to? EDIT: Will get that two pack A.J and Hogan. Current DA Hogan will be cool. I hope his Banada comes off.
