I see it like this. Let's say I go walking down a dark alley with $100 bills hanging out of my pockets. I get mugged. Now, is the guy who mugged me at fault? Absolutely he is. Am I completely blameless? No. I was an idiot to put myself in that situation. I would amend that and say if you decided to go walking through the ghetto, instead of just a dark alley. But yeah. And thanks to everyone for the translations on Portis. I was quite confused. Not to be a pisser... but they wouldn't necessarily rob you in the ghetto for that. Depending on how your demeanor is they might actually be confused or laugh. They'd rob you for looking scared or trying to look not scared. Or for looking at them, in general. But, the crack heads would be trying to cut every deal in the world with Dr. Hulk in exchange for that money.

I love all the Jets bashing, its only been 1 game, a great defensive game but I love how everyone is already beating the crapout of them for being arrogant cocks. This week should be fun, and the Jets very well could win with that defense but that offense...yikes. I just love Ryan and the idiots on that team getting beaten for talking like they won the Super Bowl....now go eat a ing snack

I've been saying that stuff about the Jets since the pre-season last year.

For once (Well, second if you want to count that whole "Super Bowl" thing), Eli comes out as the better Manning, as he was pretty funny in that.

I've been saying that stuff about the Jets since the pre-season last year. Are the Jets supposed to talk like they dont have a chance in hell of winning the SB? I know they have come across arrogant. Being a Jets fan.....even I see it. But geez......they were the focus of a tv show and I am sure a lot of what was shown there goes on in all NFL locker rooms. Its just not all locker rooms are on tv.

Its just not all locker rooms are on tv. No-one's saying they shouldn't be confident, but the point is that the Jets got Hard Knocks, due in part because ever since Rex Ryan got there last year, it's been non-stop talk about how they're the best there is in the NFL, today. You can talk and take the conservative approach of "We'll take it one game at a time", be slightly more intense with "It is our plan/goal to win the Super Bowl", a method Ochocinco like to use, or you can be the Jets, who disregard the other 31 teams in the League and essentially crown themselves SB Champs before the Season, which can come back to bite them. Every team, except maybe the Rams and the Browns went into this year expecting a Super Bowl, but they didn't all beat it into our heads at every Presser, like the Jets have done. Not saying it's wrong to do it, but when you're so vocal about it, it's seen focusing on talk more-so than the actual game, and to there naysayers, them losing at Home to start the Season doesn't help change that opinion.

You can be confident, and you can be arrogant.
There is a fine line and anyone with common sense and 2 eyes sees the huge difference between the two when looking at the Jets this year, its embarrassing.

I was honestly surprised after the Ravens game. I felt maybe they would take a step back and realize, they are not as good as they think they are. They couldnt score a touchdown with this 'amazing' offense.
Ryans comments immediately after the game, still talking about the Superbowl. Im saying to myself, this guy is freakin' nuts. Just shutup about the SuperBowl and worry about the Patriots or at the fact that your offense didnt score a TD.

So I'm sure if the Eagles beat the Lions, The morons that I'm surrounded by will think that this is the performance that will propel Vick to the starting posistion. "MY GOD! HE BEAT THE MIGHTY LIONS! THE AMAZING 2-14 LIONS!"
*sigh...*

I don't have a problem with that. The problem I have is when people try to act like the Jets were the 2nd best team in the AFC last year because they got to the AFC championship game. It's preposterous. That team, realistically, should not have been in the playoffs. ... And Rex Ryan is an obnoxious douche.

Sure, they have one of the, if not the top CB in the league in Revis. But if teams like the Colts actually tried in those last two games against NYJ and BUF, then the preseason would have been completely different. The Jets came forward when they were given the opportunity, but there was no reason for them to be in the playoffs and make it to the AFC Championship Game.

I liked Hard Knocks, you are supposed to be obnoxious on that show but its not that what pisses me off....its EVERY conversation Rex brings up the Super Bowl, writing on the ESPN bus, constant pissing on Belichick and how they are the best team blah blah.

I remember at first, I was disappointed that the Ravens didn't hire Rex. After seeing how his stint in NY is going, I'm glad they picked Harbs over him.
The guy is a great defensive coach, but theres a fine line between being confident, and being disrespectful. And Rex clearly crosses that line.
