Peter King SI.com – Since the commissioner whacked the Patriots and coach Bill Belichick in September 2007 for the longterm practice of taping the opposition’s sidelines, New England has played almost half the number of games (64) as it played coached by Belichick before the sanctions came down (126). So the sample size is good to determine what sort of edge Belichick and his team got from knowing what the opposing signals might have meant. And the answer I found is: not much, apparently. …check out the pre- and post-Spygate numbers, including playoff games, for the Patriots under Belichick, and you’ll see why the video practices seem so wasteful:
. G W -L Pct. Points per game
Pre-Sanction 126 87-39 .690 23.4
Since Sanction 64 49-15 .766 29.4
… I was reminded of this last Monday, when the Patriots were mercilessly pounding the Jets 45-3, and just thought how interesting it is that the Patriots are the highest-scoring team in football — by a whopping 41 points — in a year in which they’ve totally changed their offensive philosophy… It all just proves to me that Belichick used to be and still is the smartest guy in the room … and how unimportant to everything on the field the videotaping seems to have been.

Even though Brett Favre has come off has kind of a scum bag recently with the news that he likes to take pictures of his penis on his cell phone and then send them to ladies who refuse to sleep with him....I still respect that he didn't just go out there and run one play and then come out trying to get closer to 300.
297 legit is better than 300 if the last 3 were a joke.
Hell of a career, it's probably over, but I respect that he didn't just try and get to 300 and make a joke out of it.

This is the funniest post of the year, honestly. Are you ing kidding me!?!? Right, let me know how you'd feel if you found out the Giants taped your practices the week of the Superbowl and they stole your signals and that's why they won and you lost. You'd say "oh, not much use, apparently" Or that the Browns did it to you too, a few weeks ago, and that's why you guys lost. Or that last year in the playoffs in the first round at home when Brady played like crap, you guys were video taped. you'd be fine with all of that? The St Louis Rams should be just completely fine with it? Pull up a formula that justifies the St. Louis Rams superbowl game, why don't you? you do realize you are now resorting to justifying how cheating didn't matter that much? Well fine, have it your way... your team is just really good but unethical. So if you're ok with that... I guess we've learned something about you too. You're unethical and couldn't care less about the integrity of the competition as long as your team wins. Yup, sounds about right. Fair enough?

Yep, we are screwed. 21 points against the Texans?? Dear god. Can't wait to get raped by the Saints next week...... Drew will throw 3 picks, guaranteed. He's leading the league or was leading the leagues in picks. Saints will have no running game most likely. Ravens probably hold the edge in this matchup.

Our D is good, but its not good enough to carry this joke of an offense.

If people have a problem with him, yell at him at Twitter for his STATS, which you cant argue and HIS opinion. Peter King, famous NFL writer. Ok there cheater. That's why you can't directly respond to mine or answer my questions. Because you know it would bother u if another team cost u a victory with cheating. Kliquid's team cheated in the 90's too. You guys are the only ones that are ok with it and yelling at me to shut up. Makes sense. But you guys are defending cheating. Right. You guys are class acts. I'm sooooo bad because I hate cheaters!!! The NERVE! If it came out that the Giants cheated to beat u in SB42 you would defend the Giants cheating ways wouldn't you? You're not being a homer at all by fluffing cheating and defending it. Kliquid and you yelling at the guy who hates cheaters is not convenient at all considering their teams cheated and won something. The St Louis Rams have nothing to conplain about right? ? You gonna ignore that one again? Thought so. Now if you guys wanna respond to this I once again encourage you to tell me that you'd be ok with other teams doing it to you in a superbowl game. But you won't. Because you're a baby. Because your team cheated. And you want everybody to be brainwashed into thinking it's irrelevant. Because you'd be ok with other fans telling you it didn't matter, right? Maybe it's the cheaters that need to shut the up and these ridiculous cheating debates will go away? Why even post that Peter King piece? You think I won't respond to it? Makes sense, again.

I really don't care about the pats cheating. It's over and done, they were punished. It's old news. And yes, I believe most teams did it.

I'm yelling at you because you're a ing idiot about this poop and you might be the only person on the planet who is dumb enough to believe that the Cowboys and Patriots were the only teams that "cheated." I mean, as recently as a couple weeks ago, the Broncos got busted for doing it. Where was your outrage then? I can tell you exactly what I said. "I'm not surprised." The NFL has long been about finding ways to bend (or even break) the rules. But when it comes down to it, on Sunday, you have to win the game. The Broncos were videotaping and they still got blown out. When we know for a fact that other teams were videotaping (Johnson himself said that he knows personally of the Redskins) -- and Belichick has worked for numerous NFL teams in the past. Do you think he just came up with the idea randomly? Or do you think he might have been involved in doing it throughout his career? Maybe, just MAYBE? Don't get your panties in a wad now, but he worked for the Giants before he worked for the Patriots. Even if it came out tomorrow that the Giants were involved in Spygate in 2007, I wouldn't discredit them. I would say, "Oh well they probably shouldn't have been doing that, but other people were doing it too, so I'm not going to be too worried about it." It's the same thing with steroids in baseball, or any sport. When I find out that a player was taking steroids, I'm not really shocked. And I don't say, "Well he's a cheater, he would have never won without it!" Does the player deserve to be suspended for breaking the rules? Yes. Did the Patriots deserve to be punished for being caught in Spygate? YES!! But to discredit them in the absurd way you do is just so pathetic.

between the Patriots argument, the Sanchez argument, and the MVP argument, I'm not sure which on again/off again one I enjoy reading the most.
