Vick can catch fire. He can be co-MVP with hitler in hell. You're going to be soooooooooooo mad when he eliminates the Falcons.... You have no idea. I'm more scared of Andy Reid than I am Vick though. Even when we had Vick, the Eagles always had our number, just like earlier this year. Of course we had the Vick who wasn't motivated by bankruptcy and a new contract. The last team I want to play is Philly, partly because they always eat our lunch, and partly because I don't want to hear all the Vick crap. I'm hoping somebody else takes care of the Eagles for us before that happens. But at home, which it will be, I like our chances. That being said. I don't wish injury on anyone, but Vick tearing an ACL would be karma. I get tired of people talking abou what a great story his comeback is. No, a great story would be if he had put effort into being a good quarterback the first time he was in the NFL, and didn't run an illegal interstate gambling ring, or smuggle dope through airport security, or flip off the fans, or get a herpes test under the name Ron Mexico, but instead was a good citizen, and worked hard and improved. That would have been a good story. Being lazy, being a criminal, and going broke, only to come back and say and do the right things just so you can try to get out of bankruptcy because you blew it all the first time isn't a great story.

I'd honestly rather have Ryan over Vick any day.

A good comeback to me would be if he broke his back and came back from injury. Not being a sumbag, lying to the feds, going to jail, losing everything he has, and finally after 10 years as a pro, actually somewhat dedicating yourself to the game finally, because your other choice is getting a real job to pay back the millions you owe. I haven't seen anything from Vick to make me think he is a different person. I just think he has better advisors, and finally realizes that he needs to do and say the right things in order to actually be a millionaire again, because his time to do so is very limited.

I do owe thanks to Vick though in a way, because if he wasn't a stoner, scumbag, lazy, idiot, Atlanta might not have the excellent general manager, coach, and quarterback that we have now.

While I'm sure it was just in joking, the best part of being a Brett Favre fan is that I DON'T have to stick up for him, even though haters be hating.
I'll let all the records, MVP awards, the SB ring, the streak, and the media's obsession with him do all the talking.

So what you're saying is that Tom Brady is better than him in every way other than perhaps this obnoxious "streak?"

You're just asking for someone to attack Tony Romo. Watch it, bub. I'd easily rather have Romo than just about any other QB with the exception of Brady, Peyton Manning, Brees, Rivers, Rodgers, and Vick. Matt Ryan is borderline. Everyone else can suck it.

I'll let all the records, MVP awards, the SB ring, the streak, and the media's obsession with him do all the talking. I was listening to the radio a couple of days ago and the guy was talking about Favre only winning one Super Bowl in his career, going on and on about how Brady's got three and Roethlisberger has two and they're as young as they are and still stand a chance at winning more between the two of them in the next decade or so. Not that that means anything. Favre's going to go down in history as one of the best. But you gotta think...some of those stats are only as high as they are because he just refuses to quit playing. Any QB starting every single game for 18 years or so...they'll probably have ridiculous numbers also.

Kliquid how is the weather there in MN? I can't wait for the game tonight, it's going to be a mess. Bears need to do work and lock up the division lol
I'm up 6 with Bears DEF going against Vikings DEF and Robbie Gould.

I'd think as long as Cutler remembers he's not playing for the Vikings, you should be fine tonight.

Gotta love some stats being attributed because he "just refuses to stop playing."
It's good to see that with the situations revolving QBs all around the league, that somehow Brett Favre's had this magical power to make the decisions on if he's going on the field or not. Nevermind the fact that it's the coaches' job to make decisions that give their team the best advantage to win the game.
So if someone has a broken hand or hurt leg or ankle, and the coaching staff still has the belief in him that he gives their team the best advantage to win, then how can that player be found at fault? I still don't see why Brett gets all the flack for decisions that he doesn't make.
At any point this year alone, the Vikings could have said "Brett's hurt. He's giving us sub-par results based on last year, and he's not coming back. It's time to try out our other options". They had 2 different head coaches that could have pulled the plug. They even had a game where Brett was taken out of the game that they could have used as a "scapegoat" reason to take him out of the game.
But what's the No. 1 thing that's brought up by the head coach? "Brett Favre's our starting Quarterback, if he's healthy enough to play." That right there says, and has always echoed, that the coach feels that Brett Favre gives them the best chance they have.
From Green Bay, to New York, to Minnesota, all teams had good reasons and windows open to take Favre out during his numerous injuries. Instead, they all made the same choice of seeing how Brett felt, and going with it. How that is suddenly Brett's fault for "refusing to quit playing" is beyond me.
If anything, we see more people quiting on plays (I'm looking at you Moss) on a Sunday afternoon then someone trying to give their all on every play. I'm not saying Favre is the best example of "make every play count", but personally I'd rather have someone who's willing to go all out to win then quit for any reason.

The punter made a mistake...absolutely. But they were up 21 with 7mins. to go. MAKE A TACKLE! Take a pot shot at my team. I agree with you. What our coach did was classless. Absolutely classless. But your defense blew a 21 point lead. I dont care what you did in the first half. CHOKE. Meh....Oakland is still a hell hole. They played in the West and that division wasnt all that great. Credit to them for getting some decent wins and being a better team than last year. But playing the Broncos twice help pad those wins.Don't blame us for dominating our Division regardless of who is in it, we had a fantastic year and gained the respect of many people aswell as found an indentity for the first time since 2002. This team has come a LONG way this season and started giving some glimmer of hope for the future. Regardless of the final 2 games, i am proud of this team and i always knew they would be much better this year not to mention we have one of the best rushing games in the NFL. So yeah, this is no Hell Hole Nostradamus... Re: Official 2010 NFL Offseason Thread « Reply #1790 on Aug 3, 2010, 2:59pm »What are you looking forward too? Another top 10 pick in the NFL draft? I know a lot of people are picking the Raiders to be as good as 8-8.....or in the 6 or 7 wins category, but I dont see it. 4 or 5 max. ] I don't see it either. LOL!!! So did you dig through the thread or did you save that from earlier in the year? So I was a couple of games off? WTF?! Who makes a prediction like that and completely expects to be dead on? In addition, who was expecting that division to be so horrid? Like Cosmos said....2-7 outside the division. They got lucky with some of those wins. But me being the fair man I am.....the Raiders have some bright spots. D-Mac has REALLY come on this year. And I think they have something to work with at WR. I'm not sold on Campbell at QB, but maybe Raiders fans like him and they willmore thna likely stick with him for a bit.

Dude... You play the Carolina Panthers next. The 2-12 Panthers. At home. What are you worried about? I've never seen someone so upset about their team owning a 10-4 record. Pittsburgh's also probably the most notorious team when it comes to losing to teams they have no business losing to. (See Oakland, Cleveland and Kansas City last year.) It's these "gimme" games that can f*ck any team over, and tend to do so to the Steelers on a sadly frequent basis. And being home doesn't mean anything honestly. Two of the games we lost this year were here at home. Then tack on that we have the Ravens on our tail, a division game against Cleveland, and the Wild Card spot being so clogged by Indy, San Diego, New York, Jacksonville and Baltimore...as much as I want to think we'll be good to go and make the playoffs...I'm a fan, but I'm also a realist. That tends to be a problem, but I'm not always wrong. Hey, I feel your skepticism, I really do. I watched that fiasco of a stretch last year as well. But, this isnt the same team from last year. This is a team that's had to deal with alot, had to prove alot to themselves and to everyone else. They've played all year with a bit of a chip on their shoulders. And while the Steelers are banged up, THIS team knows what's at stake, THIS team remembers last year, and I believe THIS team will lock up the second bye. Stay encouraged my fellow Steeler fan

I guess. I mean, we'll have Troy and Smith back come Wild Card week, but how beat up will the rest of the team be by then? **shrugs**
