"Tell Vitor Belfort let’s make it happen. I like that because he ain’t no scared little b*tch. He wants to come to my world and I’m more than willing to welcome him into my world." IBF Heavyweight Champion, James Toney, talks to fighthype.com in response the the Vitor Belfort comments he made on twitter a few days ago. In Vitor's original challenge he plead with UFC president Dana White to set up a 6 round boxing match between him and Toney so that Vitor could prove to the world that the UFC elite will not only beat Toney in MMA, but in his own sport as well. Will Dana ever permit such a thing? I highly doubt it, but the prospect is interesting at least. Even though Toney is the more decorated boxer, I have seen Vitor's speed and power first hand and still give him the edge over Toney if this fantasy was ever to become a reality. www.bjpenn.com/profiles/blogs/james-toney-accepts-the-vitor?xg_source=msg_user_blogpost

I saw this earlier, I honestly think if Dana where to set it up, which I'm sure he wouldn't, Toney would pick him apart.

It's not going to happen. Belfort does have a lot of speed, but I am not sure that he can match up with Toney in any technical aspects of boxing. It would be silly for Dana to make the fight happen, just like it was silly for Toney to come into MMA.

I see how Kimbo just sucks at MMA and Boxing but Toney only sucks at MMA and is a technical throwback god at Boxing.

MMA Fighters > Pure Boxers in MMA
Pure Boxers > MMA Fighters in Boxing
Why is this difficult to understand?

it's just as offensive for toney to say he can run rampant on mma as belfort claiming he can take toney in boxing.

Yes i'm an idiot.
I'm sure you saw Toneys last boxing match yes ? Or one of his recent ones ? I'll show you one if you like
If you had to compare both, vitor is OK in boxing standards.Toney is terrible, its clear to see he is finished, embarrassing to be honest..

Yes I have, he is my favorite Boxer. I know Toney isn't as good as he used to be, but by no means is he "terrible", and saying Vitor is "OK" in Boxing just shows how much you know about Boxing, NOTHING! Vitor would get picked apart, he is to wild with his punching, and Toney is very technical with great head movement and shoulder rolls.

Vitor has competed in pro boxing and did very well in his debut. Toney is old and slow.

Toney's been beating cans for years. The only relevant guy he has beaten was Holyfield. And that was Holyfield WAY out of his prime. And that was in 2003. In 2010, Toney is NOT relevant, which is why he tried to go to MMA and failed.

I know he has only beaten a bunch of cans as of late but he has also fought and beaten(or at least put up a good fight) some really good Boxers. I know the Toney that was Middleweight champ won't show up to the fight but I still think James would out box Vitor.

He was undefeated for a very long time until he fought a real boxer Roy Jones Jr. Like I said, he hasn't beaten any of relevance besides an out of his prime Holyfield. Anyone in the sport of boxing can come up and call themselves champion because of so many titles. IBA and NABO's titles are toys.
Toney is also a cheater. I find it funny how you are so quick to hack on Nate Marquart for "cheating", but continue to support James Toney who has tested positive a few times after his fights for banned substances. I like the contrast.
