I really hope Grove can pull this one out! I like him and would hate to see him lose again. Good match up career wise though.
Demian Maia is trying to work his way back into title contention. He’ll take his next step in a middleweight bout against “Ultimate Fighter Season 3” winner Kendall Grove at “The Ultimate Fighter Season 12” finale on Dec. 4.
Grove posted the fight on his official Twitter account late Tuesday evening.
Maia (13-2) lost his title bid against Anderson Silva via unanimous decision at UFC 112 on April 10 in Abu Dhabi. He has since rebounded with a dominating performance over Silva’s training partner, Mario Miranda, at UFC 118 in Boston.
Grove (12-7) has had an up and down career in the Octagon since winning “The Ultimate Fighter.” He has gone 6-4 since the finale, alternating wins and losses in his last four bouts. He enters the bout with Maia coming off of a split decision victory over Goran Reljic at UFC 116 in July.
Not much light has been shed on “The Ultimate Fighter Season 12” finale, although it will take place at The Palms in Las Vegas, and also features Stephan Bonnar vs. Igor Pokrajac.
