Evan Tanner February 11, 1971 - September 8, 2008 32 Wins - 8 Losses - Former UFC Middleweight Champion Hard to believe it has already been two years since Evan's passing. I remember just stopping what I was doing when I heard the news, not wanting to believe it. I had always been a huge fan of his. Feel free to discuss his life, career, whatever is on your mind.

It's really a shame what happened. I wish he was just a bit more prepared for what he was doing, so we could have seen him continue his career.

Yeah, I cannot believe it has been 2 years already since the untimely passing of Evan Tanner. I think he was a hell of a fighter. Definitely not the worst, that's for sure. Far from it. He's a former UFC Middleweight champion, so you can't be all that bad if you held a major title such as that at some point in your career.
I mean, some guys NEVER get the chance to hold a major title like that. Evan Tanner did and I think he made a great champion. He may be gone, but he is definitely not forgotten.

Damn, last night I was fixing up a few of my UFC figures and I finally got my Evan Tanner's leg's straightened out and a good pair of gloves(two closed fists and white wrist tape) and it really got me thinking about his death. I had no idea today was the anniversary.
It's a crying shame. He was a great fighter and a better person.

Not the biggest MMA guy, still love the sport though. If you guys don't mind me asking, how did he pass?

There is not a day in my life I do not think about Evan. He was the godfather to my son. And a brother to me. I remember running hills with him all the time. He always felt like there was more to life than what everyone else thought. Evan is an angel from heaven. I just wished he lived longer so his word would have been spread more. I was very very proud to help finish his housing project he had. He loved to surf and go to the extreme.
I miss my friend Evan.
The ET in my sig was for Evan.
