I just read the 'What A Hero!" thread about the man who saved his pregnant wife from a car crash that ended up killing him and these two drug users. The druggies were not wearing their seat belts and it made me think:
How many people wear their seat belts while in a car?
Do you always wear it whether you are the one driving or not?
If you don't wear one why don't you?
And do you know anyone that doesn't wear their seat belt?
EDIT:
I was wondering if people wear ONLY wear their seat belt because they don't want to be ticketed because in many states there are laws for wearing seat belts.
Like it if wasn't a law would you still wear it?

I do all the time. Even before it became the law. When I was young my parents would never start the car unless everyone was buckled. It's just stupid not to, especially if something could have been prevented if you had been wearing it. I don't even notice it.
I really felt uncomfortable in India when the taxis didn't have seatbelts. When hiring a driver for long trips we made sure the van had seatbelts.

Yes, I always wear my seatbelt. I just don't feel safe without it. And anyone who drives with me, wears theirs too.

I edited the thread since one person here and one person from my other forum seemed to imply they only wear them to prevent tickets..

You HAVE to wear one all through Australia, or else theres huge fines. I was shocked in USA that alot of states, they werent a must in. Even so, I'd always wear one, as its just alot safer.

i put mine on before i even start the car. i make sure everyone who is riding with me has theirs on too.
if im not driving i sometimes dont wear one.

Not wearing a seatbelt saved my best mates life... twice. Despite this, 99% of the time I still wear one.

Can you believe that an ex fireman tried to convince me that I was safer not wearing a seatbelt? He was telling me that I had a better chance at living if I was ejected from the car. While that can be true in some occasions(a very small percentage of occasions), that's just silly. He actually argued with me about it. I told him that when he crashes head on and end up wearing the windshield of his car around his neck, he'll realize that what he's saying is completely ridiculous. Especially coming from an ex firemen who's pulled hundreds of people out of car wrecks.
Anyway, yes I wear my seatbelts. ALL THE TIME. I just don't feel safe without it on. I'm actually so used to the motion of going from my ignition to the seatbelt that I don't even notice putting it on half the time, which I guess is a good thing lol.

Yes I always wear my seat belt. Even if it's just a trip down the road to the gas station cause you never know what could happen. Plus I wanna be prepared for the zombie apocalypse.  |

i never do. just really uncomfortable for me. my police chief pba card and shiel gets me out of anything. i kno its dangerous but i cant do it
