Monday, August 31st 2009.
Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole welcome us to another sold-out edition of Monday Night RAW. On the card tonight, all of the Championship Scramble competitors will compete in Singles Matches as Triple H faces Ted DiBiase, WWE Champion Randy Orton faces Jack Swagger and John Cena takes on Legacy’s Cody Rhodes in the Main Event.
‘The Game’ hits and Triple H wanders down to the ring ready for action. The Game grabs a microphone and tells us that last week was a terrible week for him and D-Generation-X. He lost a good friend to ignorance and fears that that friendship with never be re-built. Triple H says that he can put this behind him though; he can try to forget about Shawn Michaels and D-Generation-X and move forth to become WWE Champion. Triple H drops the mic and Ted DiBiase’s music hits because their match is about to take place.
Triple H def. Ted DiBiase.
The first Scramble competitor’s singles match of the evening as a pumped up Triple H took on the up and coming Ted DiBiase. DiBiase didn’t have Randy Orton or Cody Rhodes at ringside, which could’ve been a setback, as he had no one apart from the occasional fan cheering him on. Triple H was prepared and after dodging a Bodysplash in the corner he hit the spinebuster and proceeded to lock in and nail the Pedigree for the victory.

The Miz storms into this week’s guest host, Floyd Mayweather’s office. He got a big pop from the crowd. The Miz demanded a match against Kofi Kingston tonight, since he ruined The Miz’s chance at gaining a WWE Championship Match. Floyd tells Miz that he will be facing Kofi Kingston tonight, in tag team action; he’ll be teaming with Carlito to face MVP and Kofi Kingston. Miz doesn’t look too happy, as usual as we head out to the ring.
Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly.
Divas Champion, Mickie James was on commentary for this one after Beth assaulted her last week. Phoenix and Kelly put on a decent match but it was mostly one sided. Kelly hit her Cartwheel Elbow Smash but Phoenix countered the Hurricanrana for a Powerbomb and then the almighty Glamslam for the victory.
Phoenix challenged Mickie James to get in the ring and James did just that as she hit Beth with the Lou Thez Press and then the MickieDT! The Divas Champion checked on Kelly as Beth lay out hurt.

WWE Champion Randy Orton is backstage, Josh Matthews asks him what he thinks of his opponents for Unforgiven. Orton says that quite frankly he’s happy with his opponents. He’s beaten John Cena many times before, sames goes for Triple H and he reminds us that at WrestleMania 24 he beat both men in a Triple Threat Match at then he repeated that feat at Night of Champions this year. Orton will prove how easily he can beat Jack Swagger tonight and Ted DiBiase is still learning and everything that Ted DiBiase knows, Randy Orton knows. Matthews wishes Orton the best of luck in his match, which is next.
Non Title: WWE Champion Randy Orton def. Jack Swagger.
The crowd really didn’t have anyone in particular to cheer for, as it was a heel versus heel match. They eventually took the side of Jack Swagger since Randy Orton is the main heel in the company. The match was relatively even actually as Swagger looked to score the biggest win of his career over the WWE Champion and Orton was out to prove that he’s better than all of his competitors at Unforgiven. Swagger had a reverse chinlock locked in but Randy countered out nailing his signature backbreaker and taunting the RKO but Swagger pushed him away and lifted Randy up for the Gutwrench Powerbomb. However once Randy was on Jack’s shoulders he dropped down for the RKO and the three count.
Randy Orton stood tall with the WWE Championship as we head out to a commercial.

Unified Tag Team Champions, Chris Jericho and The Big Show walks down to the ring with pissed off looks on their faces. Jericho takes his microphone and says that he demands a rematch with the scrawny nympth called Evan Bourne, he wants to prove that last week was a fluke-victory and that The Unified Tag Team Champions are in a much higher league that Evan. Floyd 'Money' Mayweather walks out to the stage and says that he would make that match but he wouldn’t want his good friend, the Big Show to get left out for the second week in a row so JeriShow will be competing in tag-team action against Evan Bourne and his partner Mark Henry! The crowd pop as JeriShow look infuriated.

Non-Title: Evan Bourne and Mark Henry def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho and The Big Show via DQ.
A Pretty good tag team match, which looked to debut the new team of Evan Bourne and Mark Henry. Jericho fought the match most of the way through as he looked for some retribution on Bourne and he almost got it when looking in the Walls of Jericho but Bourne made the ropes. Jericho attempted the Lionsault but Evan dodged and the two slowly got to their feet before tagging in their partners. The Big Show and Mark Henry battled hard and Henry was the first one down with a powerslam from Show but in the end Mark mounted a comeback and set up for his signature splash but Chris Jericho ran in with a chair to cause the DQ.
Jericho missed the chair shot as Henry ducked and Jericho was subsequently met with the Worlds Strongest Slam. The Big Show slid out of the ring as Evan Bourne delivered Air-Bourne to Jericho. Big Show pulled his partner out of the ring and the two began to head up the entrance ramp when Floyd Mayweather appeared on the TitanTron. Floyd said if JeriShow think’s they can get away with a disqualification loss they’re wrong. Since they decided to end the match early they can face Henry and Bourne again with the titles on the line at Unforgiven! The crowd popped loud for this. Mayweather added that the title would change hands on a count of Disqualification. The champions are red and fuming as we cut to a break.

Cody Rhodes is seen in his locker room lacing up with boots because his main event match is coming up shortly.
The Miz and Carlito def. United States Champion Kofi Kingston and MVP.
As set up earlier by the Guest Host. Miz is looking for some revenge over Kofi Kingston last week after the United States Champion cost Miz his Championship Scramble qualifier. MVP and Carlito both needed a win after losing their respective Scramble Qualifiers last week also. Kofi Kingston was controlling the match as he whipped Carlito into the corner for a monkey flip. However, this allowed Miz to use a blindtag as Kofi proceeded to connect with Trouble in Paradise. Miz snuck in behind Kingston, prior to knocking Montel off the apron to deliver a Skull Crushing Finale and pin the champion.
Miz was over the moon after pinning the United States Champion. Screaming ‘I’m Awesome’ at the top of his lungs at he talked trash in Kofi’s face before leaving.
John Cena is shown walking through the halls backstage because his main event match is up next.

John Cena def. Cody Rhodes w/Ted DiBiase.
WWE Champion Randy Orton was on commentary for this one. Rhodes dominated Cena early on, making himself look dangerous with stomps and hard submission holds. John Cena tried to make his typical comeback twice but failed as Rhodes kept the leader of the CENATION grounded. Cena finally did makes his comeback after a failed Moonsault from Rhodes hitting the Five-Knuckle Shuffle and taunting the Attitude Adjustment but Ted DiBiase hopped on the apron and began to yell at Cena. John turned around which allowed Cody to run at Cena but John ducked and Rhodes punched his own partner. Randy Orton stood up for the announce desk as Cena hoisted Cody Rhodes up for the Attitude Adjustment and smiled at Randy before connecting with the move and the pinfall.
Cena taunted for Randy Orton to get into the ring as Orton walked up to the apron. Cena was jumped, however, from behind by Ted DiBiase who nailed Cena with a Dreamstreet as Orton got into the ring. Randy and Ted began stomping on Cena but Triple H ran down for the save giving Orton a knee to the face and DiBiase a spinebuster. One more way added to the fray though as Swagger came out of the crowd to hit Triple H with a Gutwrench Powerbomb. Rhodes was up by this time and finished it all off with a Cross Rhodes. Rhodes went to help Randy Orton up by was nailed with an RKO. Randy then proceeded to hit Ted DiBiase with an RKO! Randy Orton, the WWE Champion, stood tall to end the show.
