Ok I've noticed on a few figures with light brown hair or dark brown with lighter highlights at the end have just been given dark brown hair.
e.g Rodey Piper, Ultimate Warrior, Million Dollar Man...
Do you think it's a bit of a problem?
I think it ruins the look a bit especially with the Million Dollar Man and Piper.
If you look at a picture of Dollar man and the figure. The figure's hair has just been painted dark brown which takes the likeness away a bit. Now both of these 2 head scuplts need re-doing anyway but what do you think?
I have heard edge is the same?

Their hair isn't the greatest . Mold and coloring. They don't give wrestlers natural looking highlights, they just pick a solid color and glob it on. I noticed color issues with some of their tights too.

I think the paintjobs on the heads has still got a long way to go in general. The hair painting really sucks on some figures -- we've had Edge and Shawn Michaels both ginger, just about every HHH has a solid weird yellow hair colour, eyes are wrong colour on a lot of figures, they haven't done a great HBK beard, etc etc. I think the sculpts are a lot better than the paintjobs make them look.

I agree. I have to say the gross rendtion of blond hair is the one that bothers me most.

Yeah the scans are fine but the paint leaves room for improvement.

This is one of the very few areas where I feel Mattel has missed the mark in (and one rare instance where Jakks gets the point). Although it seems they have improved a little recently, a lot of the figures' hair are painted with one solid color throughout and sometimes the wrong shade. This includes facial hair as well. It's not a big deal, but I think the Triple H's and HBK's would look much better if painted correctly.
If you look at the TitanTron Live Triple H head, the paint detail is amazing (my favorite HHH scan). Still love what Mattel is dishing out though, but with the superb detail and accuracy they put in the figure from the neck down, the heads just doesn't match at times. I mean, if Jakks can do it, I'm pretty sure Mattel can as well.

I think the EG Piper is fine.

Wrestlemania Benjamin has terrible hair color. Beyond that, the biggest problems are ginger snap Elite Michaels and mustard hair Triple H. The scruff facial hair also seems to be an issue. Michaels from series 4 looks like it's been splattered with mud. This is "fixed" in 2 packs 5, as Michaels has a very thick beard.

Agree, this is a problem that needs to be attended to. I've done more fix-up hair/beard painting than anything else. They do seem to be getting better about it though.

I only collect divas and while this issue hasn't affected the 4 already released, I do see some problems arising when it comes time to make Natalya, Alicia Fox and a few others.
For people with solid colored hair I really do like the uniformity of color, there were times when Jakks put in highlights that were poorly done and unnessecary (RA22 Torrie Wilson) but when it is called for, id like Mattel to fix it.

its confusing though cause the Basic 1 Jericho has highlights and low lights but than like Basic 4 Dolph just one flat color. so idk what they are doing.

Not a big fan of HHH's Elite 1 hair color although the figure itself is superb.

They're getting all JAKKed up. Too bad they aren't cheap so I can overlook their rush jobs on these figs lately.
Mattel, if you're out there, slow down, okay?

i wish mattel would use jakks material for hair instead of hard molded plastic.
