The title does make it sound a bit dramatic ( ;D), but I was just wondering why for example the PPV figures for the European market do not have the PPV-story (history) written on the back of their cardings?
All we have on the back is a picture of the event's poster, and that's it!
I mean, it doesn't really make any sense to me as now Mattel has to make two different types of cardings, making it perhaps more expensive to produce.
Anyone

I buy figures in the UK and never had this problem.

I would imagine that it is some type of "default" international carding that they could possible ship to a number of different countries. By just putting the Event Poster of the back, they don't have to worry about translating the text to other languages?

Maybe they don't want to translate the text into different languages? I don't know...

Joe 25th anniversary line was launched, they brought back the glory days of packaging - you remember - the card artwork of the character against an explosion background? Fanstanstic stuff! 'Cept here in Canada, Hasbro Canada decided the only way to sell the 25th Anniversary figures here was to take the character drawing off the package to make it generic. Do you know how stupid it looks to have a cardback with only an explosion on it?

Well, I can understand it being a sort of "default" setting, as all of the other "small prints" on the carding are in several different languages like Dutch, German, French, Italian and Spanish!
Personally I do not think that anyone over here in Europe (with the exeption of the UK where they do have the US carding) would care that the story on the back of the carding would be in English, I mean, it is the world's number one language!
Anyway, for real die-hard MOC collectors another opportunity to also score the European made cardings!

I would almost rather have the PPV poster on the back instead of the description.

Yeah, it's probably because of the translation.

Look at it as some kind of exclusive or something, pretty neat actually.
