I was in a WalMart today (There are exactly 6 WalMart stores between where I live and where I drive to work everyday-so I usually hit one or two a week on the way home) and found where someone had apparently returned many of their 1/1000 figs: sorry for the crappy photo-it came from my cell I didn't buy any of these, just placed them into they buggy for the photo. There was an old, Edge Heritage fig-plus a couple of Series 1 Kofi's....so this wasn't old merch that was in the back, it had to be where someone had returned product.
I realize the receipts would be old and past the 60 (or is it 90 ?) day limit.....however, around here-I have noticed that WalMart employees typically do NOT check dates, sometimes not even LOT numbers....if they see "WWE..." on the receipt, they refund it.
Target stores are much more selective and really look at the receipt closely.
Also, after seeing all of these 1/1000 figs back in a store, it made me feel that all of the 1/1000 figs I have aren't worth anymore than I paid for them (except maybe the Taker)..........which I thought might be the case when I bought them, but now, I usually pass when I find one.
Last week in another, local WalMart-I found 7.....yes, SEVEN basic Ted DiBase 1/1000 figs and honestly never considered buying one to sell or trade.
Does this mean that most or all of the 1/1000 figs excitement is pretty much a thing of the past?
Your comments are welcome.

I read your post but didn't see or wasn't sure if i saw if you bought any? People buy them thinking they are limited and are going to make a ton on ebay with them. I personally just buiy the ones i see in the stores. If i see one i get it. Its not like OMG I NEED THEM. But i think they are cool to have a few of.

I'd like them if they came with belts modeled after the real ones, like the Jakks 1/500 figures.

Only one I would have grabbed was the Edge. It seems as though someone decided to be greedy in your area and buy them all, only to realize they aren't worth much more than retail. Nice of them to give everyone else a chance to get one though.

That's pretty nuts. I've only seen one 1/1000 figure since these came out. It was an R-Truth. I considered buying it to trade (to hell with selling), but couldn't convince myself to go through with it.

The 1/1,000 craze has somewhat tapered off just due to the fact that there are more to find. Everyone's finding one, and multiples at that. It's just not that fun to find one and then another....and another. I myself have found 6, my woman 4, and she always sees them because she's a manager at Wal-Mart. I still have a 1/1,000 MVP on my Classifieds.

I'd have bought the Edge one simply cause that's my boy. I too pass on 1/1000's a few times, just njot that big of deal to have to me like the 1/500 Jakks were.

They should re-evaluate how they do the 1/1000s. I had never seen or bought one up until 2 weeks ago when my Amazon order came in with a 1/1000 Mike Knox. Then, last week I found a DiBiase (which I bought) and an R-Truth (which I left). The extent of their allure is for the quick impulse buyer. Mattel should do something more like the McFarlane Sportspick Collector Levels, but only with the Elites. Different paint jobs, accessories, and a 1/1000 gold belt (one of the few things that Jakks did right). Of course, that would probably just set everyone off a-whinin' again. Anyway, if anyone want's to buy a 1/1000 DiBiase, I am selling it..

Ha! Whoever bought them in the first place probably returned them when they realized they weren't worth squat. Good enough, now a person that wants those to collect them for fun and isn't worried about their value will have a chance to get them.

Some swapper probably returned the figs with Jakks display bases in place of the Mattel ones. What a cruel world.

these things are intellectually- disabled. idk why they make so many of these things....if they did 1 a set, not every figure, they would keep some sort of value They only do the new single releases and thats't it. So some sets might have 6 if there are no repaints while some sets might have one or 2, i personally like it.
