So why are you saying that she didnt deserve the death penalty Because I think the death penalty is just plain wrong and it is cruel and unusual punishment. So was it cruel for her to plot the deaths of 2 innocent people? I won't say unusual because this isn't the first case of murder for hire. She acted in a cruel manner by planning the whole thing. Her husband and step-son were innocent, and their lives were ended because she was a greedy bitch. So because she acted cruel, the state of Virginia acted in a "cruel" manner in dealing with her punishment.

Just because she killed doesn't mean that she should be killed. And because the constitution bars cruel punishment.

Really? Cause I can buy a box of 50 .22 shells at Wal-Mart for about 6 dollars, and I am fairly certain that would quickly and effectively take care of 50 death row inmates.
However lets stick with their desired method of lethal injection, if your stupid enough to actually believe that a syringe and whatever chemical concoction they use to lethally inject people costs 2.5 to 5 million dollars, then you don't understand our government. There spending about 100 bucks on the execution and using the other millions to fund whatever "take away our privacy" programs they are working on this month.

Yeah, let's just be like China and kill the moment after the person is found guilty. Plus, that could be cruel and unusual punishment. There are a thing called appeals and innocence. Sure it may take a few years to prove innocence, but that can't be done if you just take them out back the moment they are found guilty. Yeah, nice conspiracy theory.

I agree with you. If there is reasonable doubt, then don't kill them. I'm not calling for execution on the spot.
But if fifteen people saw you, it was caught on video tape and DNA evidence immediately confirms you as a rapist or murderer, then you know what....too bad, so sad, bye bye.
If you honestly think that lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment for someone who raped or murdered...then you are exactly what is wrong with this country.

Supreme Court has ruled you cannot be murdered for rape. Nice, I'm anti-American now? Shove it.

Who cares about the supreme court?
You gonna sit here and tell me that if some dude broke in and raped your mother before shooting her in the face, that you wouldn't want to see the son of a bitch fried?

Well, for one, the states have to care about what the Supreme Court says. Judges have to. Lawyers have to. Presidents have to. Congress has to. The Supreme Court is made up of 4 Democrats, 4 Republicans and 1 Independent. How is it broken? Hell, the ing Pope has said no to the death penalty. Now you are including murder with the rape. Someone would be killed for murdering someone, but not the rape. You cannot be sentenced to death for rape, it violates the 8th amendment. (Now are you going to say "Who cares about the constitution?") Well, my state does not allow the death penalty, so it wouldn't matter. But, I'd want to find the guy and kill him myself. That is why family members should have no say in the matter, because they are biased.

Then instead of killing them, we should set things up for them to be gang raped and left for dead just like they did to their victims.
Earlier I was not calling you anti-american, unfortunately your outlook is very american. Thanks to bleeding heart liberals and crying hippies who are so concerned over the concept of human rights, and cruel and unusual punishment, and political correctness. We have forgotten the basic concepts of right and f**king wrong.
Sitting in a rent free, air conditioned, well mantained room. While being served three hot meals a day, and doing excercises and watching tv in between IS NOT PUNISHMENT!!! For half of these people, that is a better life than they were leading in the first place!!
But I tend to agree that a state mandated, court appointed death penalty is not the answer. However I disagree with your concept of taking the family out of the picture.
I say that if some guy rapes a mans wife, that man should have ten minutes alone with that guy in a room with no windows, and no questions asked.
If some piece of trash murders a mothers only child, that mother should be handed a nice metal baseball bat and be sent into the room where the miserable c**ksucker is handcuffed to a chair.
Maybe then, just maybe, people will consider the consequences of their actions, and think before going out and ruining other peoples lives to get money, or thrills, or drugs or whatever it is that drives them.

If the death penalty is not going to stop someone from killing, nothing will.
Yeah, because main stream America is just so liberal and hippy like.
I find it funny that you criticize someone for fighting for human rights like it's a bad thing. Yeah, why stand up for the rights of others? My gosh what kind of monster does that?
If certain groups didn't have rights look at what would happen. Children would still be forced to work. Black people would still be slaves. Women wouldn't have the right to vote.
What do you consider right and wrong that apparently America is doing away with?
More states have the death penalty than don't, so you can't complain about us liberal hippies with that one.

I just hate how the ing appeals process takes so damn long.. That is what annoys me the most. Speed that crap up and get them executed in 10 years max. CA pisses me off that they have only executed like < 30 in 30 years when there are like 500+ on death row including some who have exausted all of their appeals. But I am happy that this latest guy is getting executed this Wednesday. He so deserves it for raping a 15 year old girl and then strangling her with her own shoe laces. Then he had the audacity to call her home and tell her mom where her body was.. Yeah rub it in you stupid ing freak. ing scum can burn in hell. It's just sad that he gets a painless route to hell. He so deserves to be burned at the stake!

We have the most people in prison out of any country in the world, the process takes forever because there is such a backlog of cases that it takes forever to get to someone to look at.

Getting rid of the death penalty won't lessen the prison population. It would just make the scum live long lives when their victims were not given that opportunity. I like my plan better. Kill them faster!

Kill them faster! My plan to speed things up has nothing to do with the death penalty. And I said get rid of prison crowding, can't do that by taking away the death penalty. Give them life, they'll still be there anyways.

Well, for one, the states have to care about what the Supreme Court says. Judges have to. Lawyers have to. Presidents have to. Congress has to. Realistically, the states should be (and do to some extent) handling this on their own rules. The Supreme Court is made up of 4 Democrats, 4 Republicans and 1 Independent. How is it broken? Because those people are not elected. Hell, the ing Pope has said no to the death penalty. Anyone who gives a excrement what the Pope says about a national issue should be booted from the country. Now you are including murder with the rape. Someone would be killed for murdering someone, but not the rape. They should be killed for both. It's a complete violation of human rights and a complete violation of another person's freedom. We cannot take these issues (rape, murder) lightly. You cannot be sentenced to death for rape, it violates the 8th amendment. (Now are you going to say "Who cares about the constitution? The Constitution is a great thing, but the Supreme Court decisions about rape can be overturned.

We have the most people in prison out of any country in the world, That's because we have too many ridiculous things determined to be "illegal" and punishable by prison time. There should be a whole lot more fines and a whole lot less prison time.

Otherwise, schools in some states might not be integrated. Inter-racial marriage may still be banned in some states. States would get to choose if they Mirandize people. We elect our leaders who nominate the judges and we elect others to scrutinize the pick and confirm or deny the person. I personally couldn't give a s less about what the Pope says, he was just bashing liberals and hippies so I thought I'd throw religion at him. If the Tea Party has their way, we'll be executing rapists and forcing the rape victim to have his baby. The Constitution is a great thing. Roe v Wade or Brown v Board of Education could be overturned as well. But the Supreme Court doesn't overturn them, they just chip away at them. Sure the ban on executing those who rape adults could be overturned, because it is a completely different court now than it was 33 years ago. But the ban on the death penalty for child rapists will stay in tact, because that ban was only put in place 3 years ago and we still have the majority of that court on the bench today.
