Just in the past few months WWE has written lines for Daniel Bryan and Edge to call out Michael Cole for being a horrible announcer and stating that Jim Ross is much better then him. But from all indications WWE has no interest in putting JR back on TV as an announcer even though JR would like to be. So basically what they're saying is Cole sucks and JR's better but tough noogies you're stuck with Mr. Vintage? I kinda don't get the thinking behind it.

JR says WWE thinks he wasn't/isn't healthy enough for weekly travel, so I guess they figure mentioning JR is fine since they've basically washed their hands of him, and as you said, Jimmy, WWE's basically telling us "Cole's all we got, and we know he kind of sucks, but whatevs." That, and it's an easy line for people to use against Cole, to which he always replies "That's nice".
Personally, as much as WWE and JR try to spin it publicly, I think JR's pissed that he got taken off the air after getting sick and recovering, then WWE embraces Cole so much, to the point they don't want to do anything that might make Cole paranoid, thus keeping him on RAW, not budging an inch on the PPV Commentary Teams and telling one of the best ever to sit at home and write a Blog for their Soical Networking Website and your check will be in the Mail.
I get evolving, but to cast aside a healthy JR in favor of someone who even as a 75% heel can be awful at times because he's "The Future" (No offense, Future) is just wrong, as the least WWE could do is give JR a send-off show, but who knows, maybe WM27 in the home of WCW could be JR's official "Send-off" show, which would be nice, if it was just him and King for one last time.
As for Stanford, hopefully it's a step towards Superstars getting one Announce Team, as I get tired of the RAW and SD crew calling a Jobber show and doing what Josh Mathews, Jack Korpela, T-Grish and Scott Stanford did/have done for so long, sell everything else in WWE and acknowledge only Entrances and Pinfalls during your Matches.

That's the guy who does the PPV pre-shows isn't it? I don't care for either of the two who do it.
I want JR back, either throw Striker on Raw and make it a 3 person team and let JR work Smackdown or throw Cole to just NXT, Superstars and/or Smackdown (and make it a 3 man team there) and let JR come back to Raw.

Striker, Grisham and Cole on Smackdown. JR and the newly hired Jesse Ventura on Raw.

I remember so many people (on a different forum) BEGGING for Lawler to return during this time, saying they hated Heyman. I always thought he was great during his time as a partner to JR. I think the WWE is letting a potentially good commentary team go to waste right now with their INSANE see-saw routine over Cole. Turn him legit heel, and let Lawler be the smart ass face that bickers with him. I could honestly see it working a bit.

I will admit I was one of those who wanted Lawler to replace Heyman. It wasn't that I disliked Heyman, but I was 11 and was used to hearing JR and King call RAW. I marked the out when Vince fired Heyman and rehired King, only to realize Lawler wasn't the same and he never was. Heyman and JR were absolute gold together.

They are hinting that JR Is the GM, I mean look at the facts, JR is a Hall of famer, they make fun of Cole by saying stuff about JR, And Cole is the man behind the computer supporting it when really it is his rival commentator.
It fits together perfectly.

Cole is great at the momment, the king has lost his touch.
I do find it weird that we keep hearing Jr mentioned or referenced to on many occasions.

It fits together perfectly. What does JR have against Bret Hart or Edge? Why would JR support the Nexus? Bret Hart - A legend who got to come back and end his career on his terms Edge - Didn't Edge start the whole GM feud, anyways? Would just be a normal GM-Wrestler feud Nexus Supporter - Now Striker likes the Nexus, but discounting liking them for what they are, JR must love seeing Vince's company that he (JR) was kicked out of getting destroyed, as it's basically unrequested payback. He's also stung Nexus, showing he's fair and not completely one-sided, like most GM's are. JR's said he isn't and doesn't want to be the RAW GM, but something tells me once a week in a relatively small role on RAW is a situation he would be hard pressed to pass-up.
