Nice clip, but my gosh Herb Abrams' UWF was awful. Though I do admit I watch it from time to time when I catch it on. The clip you are watching was not from Herb Abrams UWF, it is from Bill Watt's UWF, which soldout to WCW in 1987. Herb Abrams opened up his own version of UWF in 1990 using some of the previous UWF stars. Sorry to act like a know it all, but I would hate for people to confuse the 2 UWF's, because the Abrams version was an abomination. This Andre The Giant clip is from Herb Abrams' UWF. I watched it in its' first run on Sports Channel America at something like 1am in the early 1990's. Bill Watts would NEVER allow toys to be shown on his wrestling program.

This is most certainly the Herb Abrams' version.

Not that I do not think he couldn't have done it with more effort, but I would tend to think they gave him a little start for him to pull it off that easily. You would not want to show him having any sort of struggle pulling off the head. Kind of like when they work on the tables so they snap on any viable contact.

Has anyone seen the vignette from early 90's WCW, where Nikita Koloff bit the head off of a Lex Luger Galoob figure? That was pretty impressive. I would love to see a video of it, but can't find it anywhere.

Can anyone brief me on the history of the UWF? It was hatched, it sucked, then it closed. Keep an eye on ESPN Classic late night week nights. You can probably find it. It's absurdly bad, though

To me the UWF was like the original UWF meets the WWF from the 80's. There was definitely a combination of both put together. You had the stars from both federations in that one and they had a bunch of wrestlers who they figured would be the new top stars (like Sunny Beach and "Wild Thing" Steve Ray) but those guys didn't do anything in the wrestling business.

It also featured ex-WWF commentators Bruno Sammartino and Craig DeGeorge.
