It looks like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will not be part of Wrestlemania 27 this year. Johnson has agreed to feature in a movie titled "Protection" where he will played a disgraced former American Special Forces operative who must rescue a judge’s kidnapped daughter from a Mexican cartel. The film will shoot from New Mexico in March meaning Johnson would be ruled out of most of the pre-PPV build up.
It would've been a perfect set up for Rock/Cena. But oh well. We will never get to see that match.

He should play a disgraced former wrestler instead. Seriously, would it ing kill him to put making crappy movies aside just once and go back to his roots and make at least one ing appearance at WM?

With the way things are as of right now with his acting career...I believe that Rocky doesn't give a damn about wrestling anymore, so all these "reports" will do nothing but set up for predictable disappointment...Well, atleast that's what I think

The Rock will never comeback... to wrestle.

saying The Rock is out of Wrestlemania plans is like saying a wrestling ring is square.
Quite frankly, I've had enough of the "rock coming back" rumors...he's already said he wants nothing to do with wrestling anymore. he left on top, left the business behind to be a movie star, and that's that. At this point I'd rather see Kevin Nash make a return than The Rock...or even another Austin comeback moment.

He wasnt even at WM27 anyway, not wwe confirmed anyway. I wish he would come back though to the company that made him what he is now, I hate how he hinted at hosting Raw, and will probably not.

I don't mind The Rock's action movies, just keep him the away from disney and I'll be fine. It would be nice though if he would come back to Guest Star like he said he would.

They're just making crapup now! Obviously he wasn't because he wasn't planned to be there anyway! Perhaps WWE should spite the dirt sheets, and sign him on now anyway...

Yeah, he never was in talks about Wrestlemania. I don't think so anyway. People like to jab the IWC for mocking dirtsheets so much, but these are the exact types of stories thay they're famous for reporting.

But why should he have to? Thank you. I'm not even a fan of his movies, but it's what he does now, and he makes money doing it. And "disgraced former wrestler"? The guy retired at a young age after giving plenty to the business. So because he won't put his personal goals aside to please a bunch of bitter fans that can't let go of his era in wrestling, he's a dick? I miss the guy just as much as any other fan of his, but people need to grow up. He isn't on any anti-wrestling crusades, and is simply trying to be successful in another career. Hell, I even tip my hat to him for not running back crying to the WWE after some of his movie roles weren't all that great.

It's not so much people resenting him for making movies, it's the fact he treats wrestling like something he just stepped in. He said he'd be back this year. No sign of him. Fair enough, just don't lie about it. Rocky is trying to distance himself so far from wrestling that it IS becoming disrespectful to the business that put him where he is now.

I can't comment on him making false claims of coming back, but again you have to ask what, if anything, does he owe anyone in the wrestling business? It was a job, and one that he did quite well. He gave just as much of himself during those years as they gave to him. Think of how much money he made for the company, and how much exposure both sides got during his time there. Seems like a pretty fair case of one hand washing the other.

How can he be out of the plans when there is a good chance he was never in them?
