Another great FREE card on Spike TV! This Saturday night, middleweight contenders Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami will do battle to determine who will fight the winner of Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort in February. This is also a pretty stacked International event with fighters fighting out of Germany, Japan, Italy, England, Poland, Croatia, Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Czech Republic and the United States.
Remember, this will be FREE on Spike TV, but it will be tape delayed, so try not to post spoilers for those who are watching the delayed broadcast. It will air on Spike at 9pm.
UFC 122 ''MARQUARDT VS. OKAMI'', 11/13/2010 (Spike TV/Rogers Sportsnet/Spox.com Stream)
König-Pilsener Arena, Oberhausen Germany
1. Welterweight bout: Kris McCray vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha
2. Light Heavyweight bout: Seth Petruzelli vs. Karlos Vemola
3. Welterweight bout: Duane Ludwig vs. Nick Osipczak
4. Welterweight bout: Pascal Krauss vs. Mark Scanlon
5. Light Heavyweight bout: Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Alexandre Ferreira
6. Middleweight bout: Kyle Noke vs. Rob Kimmons
7. Light Heavyweight bout: Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Goran Reljic
8. Welterweight bout: Amir Sadollah vs. Peter Sobotta
9. Lightweight bout: Dennis Siver vs. Andre Winner
10. Middleweight bout: Jorge Rivera vs. Alessio Sakara
11. Middleweight bout: Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami
- Hope the Kimbo Killer can fix his mistake from last time and pace himself more. I'd like to see him continue his career in the UFC.
- Krauss vs. Scanlon. 9-0 vs. 7-0. This won't go to a decision.
- Matyushenko has a very hard fight infront of him. I have watched Ferreira for awhile now and he's one of my favorite guys to watch. Pretty much every fight he's won, he's finished. I don't think he'll be able to submit Vladimir, but he will win a split decision.
- Soszynski doesn't do too well under pressure. Reljic's last fights have been alright/decent, but that was at Middleweight, where he was cutting a large amount of weight. I think without the weight cut, Reljic will be able to pressure Krzysztof and finish him in the 2nd round.
- Can't wait to see Siver again. He's one of the dark horse Lightweights right now, and he has GREAT kickboxing. His spinning back kick is one of the best ones that have ever been done in the sport. I expect another great performance out of him. Andre Winner needs to leave anyway.
- Rivera vs. Sakara will be a slugfest. Rivera is pretty powerful with his hands, but I don't think he's quicker or the better technical striker of the two. I expect Rivera to swing wild and get caught with a right hand and eventually finished off in probably the 3rd round. Either that, or Sakara wins via decision for better all-around striking.
- Everytime I think in my head about what will happen between Marquardt/Okami, I keep changing my mind. Okami is a very, VERY underrated fighter and has very good all-around skills. He's very big for a Middleweight and has a good reach. The issue here is Nate's power and aggressiveness. If he decides to go for a takedown, will Okami be able to stuff it? Will Okami use that to his advantage? I really don't know. It's a tough call, but I think Nate wins by a close split decision. It's a real tough one.
