Did you know that its actually a law in China that allows anything thrown out in garbage bin/dumpster to be legally allowed.
It really doesnt have anything to do with Figures per'se since the mods here are against posting about it but it would mean those sellers were not selling stolen rejects.
I was reading an article about that kid selling white iphone parts and making an absolute killing. Insiders think they failed QA and ended up in the foxconn refuse bin and just got picked up and sold to him here.
Thats possible the same thing occured with Mattels rejects. Im sure some people may have stolen some but per China law if they were in the trash its finders keepers.

It is interesting to know that for sure... But, when the MODs here are referring to stealing, I think they are saying, even though it may not be illegal in China, it is taking money from Mattel as a company. When someone takes these figures and sells them, the person/people buying them are less likely to buy that figure when it shows up on a shelf... Thus, taking money from Mattel.
Just trying to bring forth WF's likely opinion on this.

mattel employees in china get paid cents, so more power to them, if they can make money off of a company making a killing off of them.

Had a continuing education class thursday on fraud and theft. It's actually legal to go through the trash here. As soon as you throw something out and you put your trash can out on the curb it's fair game.

I don't see how the people are "stealing" from the companies? It is fair game. if my neighbor throws a couch out per say and i go take it and put a sale sign on it and make 15$ is that stealing? Or if the guy down the block is throwing out some stuff he didn't want and i pick it up and sell it is it stealing? No. I don't think these people are thiefs, i just think they are doing what is resourceful and is able to be done. I could see if it was a person stealing these but they are fair game.

this is the only forum that cares about the dumpster figures. it makes sense sine it would hurt ringsides business if the dumpster figures were discussed more on here. Its just people making little to no money trying to make a buck. they make a killing off the DCUC dumpster figures
