No, don't worry. This isn't about me giving up the modspot. It's more on the contrary.
This is more about giving this board a kick in the ass. We all know its been dead as of late. Whether its due to busy times in school, the holidays coming up, etc., it needs to stop. I am working a job in retail, going to school, committed to a girlfriend and I still find time to get my ass on this board for at least an hour a day. I figure that if everyone can do this, do their part and pitch in, we will be back to normal in no time. For as long as I've been on here, which has been way too long now (almost 5 years), I've never seen it this dead around this time of the year.
Something is definitely different around here. There are different people on the boards and the former people have just grown up and have gotten real lives, or have grown out of sims completely. Not that I dislike them for that, it just happens to be honest. So this new 'era' of the board comes along and we see a slight decline in actively. I am only saying a slight because the activity is still there, but just not as much. It's not like we are the fantasy booking or backyard bout boards, where we get one post a month.
Yes, I know everyone has a life outside the boards. But, I also know that you guys would be on here more if there was something grabbing your attention again. My theory is that people dislike the lack of replies they receive and its turning them off from updating diaries. Yeah, a diary is supposed to be about how much you like to do it and you shouldn't give a hoot about replies. A prime example is a spotlight diary, KvE's GATTACA, which is going strong even though he barely gets suitable replies. This is case and point for my idea to fix the board.
I think its time we put a reply for reply rule on these boards. Here me out on this because I think it could work. People like Dan, Jack, Shifty are known to give out some bad ass long replies, while others (Cenanation, AJ) give replies but they are short and to the point. Both are fine since they are replies, but I am more inclined to give a shorter reply due to time constraints. What I am trying to say through my babbling is that even if you leave a short paragraph reply noting what you like & dislike about the update, it will just keep the board alive. This will then give you a reply which will make you want to give out other replies to get more in return. This could only be GOOD for a board that is starting to struggle. Come on, who wouldn't want more replies while keeping other diaries going?
I am guilty of receiving replies and not returning but this ends now. Everytime I get a reply, you bet your ass you'll be getting something back. Like I said, even if I just drop in to say;
There is nothing wrong with getting a reply like that. At least you know people are paying attention and will give you incentive to continue and keep diaries longer and more importantly, keep the board alive. If you don't know about a certain time period or wrestling area (me with Japanese Wrestling), then you could say that and try your best to comment on the format used or any wrestler you are familiar with.
Maybe I'm crazy, but this should be easy and work. You could put up your show and then before you get your next update up, throw some replies to whoever gave you one. Then, since you gave them a reply back, you know they'll give you something again with your new update.
Beside this, I want to get the whole board involved in more things outside of their own diaries. IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS AT ALL, THIS IS YOUR TIME TO LET ME KNOW. The spotlight will not go away and I will be doing my best to get it up within 5 days of the end of the month so we can rock and roll for the next month.
This is an open discussion, I want to hear your feedback guys. Only you can help the board since I am only one man. Let's get back on track and back to normal.

PS - If you throw me an idea in here (not something absolutely intellectually- disabled like 'free ice cream day'), I'll reply to your diary.

- Wrestler A & B in the main event? Sweet
- Good match here between Blank & Blank, would really get over.
- Excited to hear that so & so is starting to come into the company.
- I felt like match #2 went too long
- Excited for this main event with all the build up
- I know you like this guy, but maybe push this guy instead unless its not in your plans
- Don't waste Mr. Smith because he is some good talent
- Woah man, good promo from Dude McDudster; he is great on the microphone and knows how to get under my skin
- Here comes the main event!
- Dude, what a good write-up, but I felt it went too long. I could have lived with all the detail
Overall, the show was decent, but there are some things to consider here. Good luck man!
