From MMAWEEKLY.comSeriously? One bad performance and he is released? Even though Falcao held on to the RNC AFTER THE BELL WHILE THE REF WAS PULLING HIM OFF? He showed quite a bit of heart in that fight. Third round was BOTH there fault. Dana has done some ed up things but this is beyond ed up. He was 3-1, guys have been around a lot longer that with a worse record. Falcao is even known for have an uncontrollable temper, that wasn't the first time he attacked an opponent after the bell.

Very unexpected. Perhaps there's more to his release? Who knows, but I hope to see him back in the UFC one day.

Harris tapped, and the bell was rung too early.
But, he doesn't deserve to be released for one fight.

I'd love to hear more about this. It can't be just for the one loss. If it is, then that's pretty messed up.

Most people are speculating that its because of the merger, which if true means we could see a lot more cuts.

Makes sense. After the WEC meger, Dana has more fighters ready and willing to step up and perform. At this point, I'm willing to bet that Dana is going to implement a no tolerance rule when it comes to performing at a high level and those guys that don't perform at an entertaining level are gonna get cut, regardless of how entertaining their previous bouts were.

I would not be surprised to see the ax come down a LOT sooner on fighters now because, as others have mentioned, there is an influx of talent coming in, and only so much space. You HAVE to perform at a top level to stick around. Harris didn't do that. He got dominated for two rounds, and with his back against the wall, he was lackluster in a situation where he needed to finish to win. It was as if he had realized he couldn't win and just quit. Performances like that will get you cut.

Really disappointing to hear, but hopefully he will bounce back, if his performances improve.
