The feud between WWE Champion Randy Orton and Batista continued as General Manager Trish Stratus announced that the two of them will meet inside Hell In A Cell for the championship. Orton and Batista signed the contract for the match on the final edition of Raw before the PPV. Orton fell victim to a Batista Bomb through the table as 'The Animal' held the WWE Championship high above his head. Batista walks into Hell In A Cell with the momentum.

Trish Stratus also announced that at Hell In A Cell, D-X will battle Legacy in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. With Brett DiBiase still not at 100%, this may very well end up as a tag team match. During a match between Shawn Michaels and Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase got involved by using Shawn's hair to pull him down to the mat. Triple H made the save for his team mate, but ended up suffering the same fate as HBK. All three members of Legacy stood tall over the team that many say they cannot beat. Can Legacy prove all of their doubters wrong at Hell In A Cell.

MVP shocked the world by turning his back on Kofi Kingston, causing him to lose the United States Championship to Jack Swagger. MVP had Kingston as a guest on the VIP Lounge, revealing that he did what he did because he is the most unpredictable star in the WWE today and he can do what he wants when he wants. Kingston and Montel ended brawling on the show, setting up a one on one match at Hell In A Cell.

Things continued to heat up between The Miz and Smackdown's John Morrison as the two had a confrontation via satellite. Both men agreed that after their match at Hell In A Cell, they will continue on with their careers and see for themselves who is the 'Marty Jannetty' of their team.

Also on Raw, Chris Masters and Mark Henry's feud continued while Mickie James successfully defended her Divas Championship against Jillian.


Smackdown
After Teddy Long announced that CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Hardy inside Hell In A Cell, Punk attempted to re injure him by tossing him off the stage once again. Matt Hardy was able to put a stop to this by attacking Punk. While this was going on, Jeff was able to get in the ring and continue hit match with Luke Gallows. Punk laid out Matt backstage and headed towards the ring. Suddenly, the Hell In A Cell descended down onto the ring, preventing Punk from saving his accomplice. Jeff positioned Gallows onto a table and delivered a Swanton Bomb off of a ladder onto him. Punk was forced to watch as Hardy stared at him through the Cell.

The Undertaker and Kane will do battle inside the Hell In A Cell at the event as well. The Undertaker continued to play mind games with his brother. Kane soon had enough and called out The Undertaker. The Brothers Of Destruction met face to face and quickly brawled. Kane dropped Taker with a Chokeslam in the ring. Taker soon however stood up. As soon as he was on his feet, Kane put him into position for the Tombstone and dropped 'The Phenom' on his head. Kane laughed as he looked up at the structure that he will face his brother in.

Also on Smackdown, Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler entered a feud with R-Truth. Truth scored a count-out victory over the champion, but failed to win the title in a match where Ziggler would lose the title if he were to be counted out or disqualified.

ECW

William Regal and ECW Champion Shelton Benjamin had a quick exchange of words on The Abraham Washington. A brawl broke out between the two, but security quickly separated them. Later on in the night, Sheamus scored a huge upset victory over Benjamin with a little help from Regal. Shelton took out Vladimir Kozlov the next week, sending a message to Regal.

After Chris Jericho screwed Christian out of becoming the #1 Contender, he and his tag team partner Big Show made visit to ECW the next week. Jericho told Christian that if he could find a tag team partner, they could have a title shot at Hell In A Cell. It didn't take too long for Christian to find a partner in the Innovator Of Violence, Tommy Dreamer.

The Television Championship tournament continued as Ezekiel Jackson and Zack Ryder joined Yoshi Tatsu and Paul Burchill in the Semi-Finals which will begin after Hell In A Cell.
