The Wrestling Observer is reporting that prior to WWE's Hell in a Cell PPV, the creative team was told to come up with a new type of gimmick cage concept as officials feel the Hell in a Cell concept has run its course and something new and unique is needed to help bring in more PPV buys and spike interest.

How about a regular cage, but the sides are 20 feet tall and you have to climb over the top to win.

How about a regular cage, but the sides are 20 feet tall and you have to climb over the top to win. I think this goes to show how WWE has managed to ruin the classic cage match with the moronic decision to involve referees in them. Outside of asking for a bigger cage, what you described is what should be special about a cage match to begin with. Escape should be the only means of victory. That was what made the matches so dramatic (just look at Bret and Owen from their SummerSlam match years ago). To involve pinfalls or submissions is just ridiculous. Hell in the Cell is the only match that should have such rules.

I concur, steel cages were always meant to "keep the combatants in, and keep interference out". Keeping it one-on-one let you find out who the best wrestler was, not who was the best climber.

True, but in a Cell match is different from a Cage match. Wrestlers are meant to fight in and out of the ring while in the cell, which means with all that space the superstars have WWE wants to do something with it.

I am not really tired of HIAC and I do really like EC so I hope the new cage is cool although it has some chance to be horrible.. Punjabi Prison anyone?

War Games would be nice. Too bad we have a hell in a cell every year it might have not run its corse so fast if it was just once in a while.

War Games cant be done as a PG event. Please dont ruin it.
Thunder Dome or Chamber of Horrors. Both are cheesy enough for WWE

War Games cant be done as a PG event. Please dont ruin it. Thunder Dome or Chamber of Horrors. Both are cheesy enough for WWE Weren't the Fall Brawl PPV's rated TV-PG? I know WWE can have blood on a PG show, but if they can have five-straight Cells without Blood, I'm sure they could get away with a bloodless War Games Match. As for the new Cage, God forbid WWE attempts to make a Card worth ordering. The Hell in a Cell has run it's course when Randy Orton and Sheamus are in one on PPV and Undertaker and Kane use it as not even a feud-blowoff. However, as Kenny Powers said, the Cell wouldn't run it's course if it was used when it was needed, not every year, twice or three times with any feud to try and boost PPV buyrates.

No, Hell in a Cell has not run its course. You guys at the WWE just sucked every drop of life out of hit whoring out a Hell in a Cell PPV.
Make the Cell go away for two years and bring it back when actually necesarry. And dont make it the name of a PayPerView.
