Here are images of a second, smiling Macho Man headscan with a much better likeness than the straigth faced one which is on the defining moments one. For pics without the glasses and hat go to 3.37 Hopefully we will see this scan released in the future.

It's funny you should bring this up, b/c in the "OOOHH YEAH" thread I stated that my custom Jakks Macho Man head was a better likeness then the EG figure. Well, part of it is because what I have has the grin with the one row (top row I think) of teeth showing just like the head sculpt from the video. It looks much better.

I'm guessing they would use that for L5. I hope so anyway. At the end of the day I will buy any Macho,Warrior,HBK and someday Hogan and Flair that they make. Guys like that (especially Savge) lend themselves to multiple releases and different headsculpts. Looking forward to them all

The grin is stupid. The problem with Macho isnt his straight face..........its his eyes.

I like that one better and hope they use it on the Legends release even though the proto showed them using the other one. I understand why some don't like the DM scan, but how many of you plan on displaying that figure with out the glasses and hat anyway?

Again, just because there's another scan, people seem to automatically assume it's awesome without even looking. these pics are really bad. they really aren't good enough pics for people to be rejoicing and saying it's a decent/better likeness than the DM one. but just going from what i can see here... the likeness on this smiling headscan is still bad. It doesn't look like Macho Man. Just a smiling bearded man with long hair. By the way, there is a 3rd Macho Man scan, which was shown on the Legends 5 proto at ringside fest. Straight faced with a bandanna, which looks removeable. I can't tell for definite, but i'm pretty sure it's slightly different from the Defining Moments one. the L5 one's beard looks thinner and differently sculpted. But I could be wrong, maybe it's the same: compared to the defining moments one: DM pic credit: ricflairforever

I went to Ringside Fest this year and I spoke with the guys at the Mattel both regarding the head scan on Savage. They did say that there is a 2nd head scan (the grin) and that it would be released on a later date as an alternate head for the Defining Moments Savage.
Therefore, there will be 2 of the same figure. Defining Moments Savage will be released twice with 2 different scans.

We get, it you don't like the scan, but why do you care so much that other people do? You don't need to justify your hated of the scan by trying to convert others to your point of view. If it's ok with you, which evidently it's not, I'm going to go ahead and say it's awesome without even seeing it. I don't think there is a 3rd scan either, so

Therefore, there will be 2 of the same figure. Defining Moments Savage will be released twice with 2 different scans. thanks for the info. i really hope they make a brand new one for his future figures... individual opinions aside though, the fact is that collector opinion is mixed on the likeness of these Macho headscans. Which confirms that Mattel have certainly not produced a definitive macho man headscan here. It can't be a great scan or else there wouldn't be so many people unsure of the likeness. Again, just because there's another scan, people seem to automatically assume it's awesome without even looking.... We get it you don't like the scan, but why do you care so much that other people do? You don't need to justify your hated of the scan by trying to convert others to your point of view. If it ok with you, which evidently it's not, I'm going to go ahead and say it's awesome without even seeing it. I don't think there is a 3rd scan either, so All I'm saying is a lot of people here get overexcited about the prospect of a Macho Man figure and label it as awesome immedietely. They forget to STOP and LOOK at the headscan BEFORE forming an opinion. People hear the name "Macho Man" and see the great accessories, and see a beard and long hair and go crazy with excitement at that, and don't seem to notice the face doesn't look like him. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have no problem with people liking the scan, as long as they've actually looked closely at the FACE, ignoring the accessories and the beard and hair, and fairly evaluated it. The fact that people are singing definitive praises for the smiling scan is ridiculous, the pictures are really bad. I know I gave my opinion, but I did stress that it's only from what I can see. The pictures are simply not good enough to make a definitive statement on this scan.

It looks a little like Jimmy Garvin. The hair is a bit off, but similar to his Macho King Hasbro. Here are the problems with the head: The eyes are missing the intensity The mouth should either be smiling with the top row of teeth visible or closed, sort of biting the upper lip, with a popeye like opening in the bottom corner. That would be perfect. His face is missing the Savage intensity. The hair is no big deal. Even if Savage is coaching Mattel on the hair, then they should take a page from Jakks. Hogan's skirted eggshell scan (CS8 nWo) is easily his best. It is the spitting image. Don't listen to the wrestler who seems himself the way he wants to be seen.

This figure is terrible! Sorry but Macho Man has been the most wanted figure for years and this is what we get? I wouldn't buy this figure if it was 4.99.

It's the hair for me, Savage wishes his hair was that thick.

There actually aren't any Macho "headscans". The man is in his 50's if not 60's now, and this figure is of him as he appeared in the 90's, so they molded the head, they didn't scan anything.
