There actually aren't any Macho "headscans". The man is in his 50's if not 60's now, and this figure is of him as he appeared in the 90's, so they molded the head, they didn't scan anything. this again? really? ugh.. headscan has become the standard/most common term around here for a figure head, whether the head was technically scanned or not. headscan, headsculpt, headmould. who cares. at the end of the day we know what people mean.

I like this scan so much better than the straight faced. Either way I still think it's a great figure

HELLO.. how did none of u notice this!! randy's hair is the issue!! savage never had that full hair on top and front of his head, especially by 91. still love it and uber happy to buy it dig it My criticism is concentrated on the facial likeness, but you are correct, the hair is wrong too. however I would like to raise the point that the hair innaccuracies may not be mattel's fault. for example, Hulk Hogan is notoriously insecure about his receeding hairline, and it was reported by several sources that he made Jakks sculptors give several of his figures more hair than was strictly accurate. it's possible Savage is equally as insecure and gave input to mattel on how to style the hair. This is exactly what I was thinking. Even the LJN and Hasbro figures had more hair than Savage ever had. It's quite possible that it had to be that way to get approval.

Again, just because there's another scan, people seem to automatically assume it's awesome without even looking. these pics are really bad. they really aren't good enough pics for people to be rejoicing and saying it's a decent/better likeness than the DM one. but just going from what i can see here... the likeness on this smiling headscan is still bad. It doesn't look like Macho Man. Just a smiling bearded man with long hair. By the way, there is a 3rd Macho Man scan, which was shown on the Legends 5 proto at ringside fest. Straight faced with a bandanna, which looks removeable. I can't tell for definite, but i'm pretty sure it's slightly different from the Defining Moments one. the L5 one's beard looks thinner and differently sculpted. But I could be wrong, maybe it's the same: compared to the defining moments one: DM pic credit: ricflairforever This is the Savage figure that I will be getting. Not a big fan of the DM one. I like the earlier version the best.

i think it is the hair. he has weird hair in real life, which i am sure it is hard to capture.

Again, it portrays Savage's head from 1985, not 1991(as it should). In '91, Savage had a receding hairline , a bald spot, and he usually had a crazed expression on his face with his teeth showing. But I have not lost faith in seeing a scan with that later portrayal of Savage. I still plan on buying this figure though.
