I'm glad Sotiropoulos lost - he's not as good as they're making him out to be. awesome...Rivera vs. Bisping is the perfect fight for Rivera...a big name against a guy who is extremely overrated. I am hoping Rivera can pick his shots wisely and KO Bisping. If he tries to rush in for the KO I think Bisping will use his "elusiveness" to win a boring decision. LOL at you. Haha.....YES because that was a good win for Bisping....he grabbed the fence to keep from being sweeped then got Rivera in the muay thai clinch.....paused.....and threw an illegal knee without showing a bit of remorse afterwards... ...AND afterwards spit towards Riveras corner...and that is your hometown hero? Hah...but yes, LOL at me.

Not so much but I still show my support, Rivera. ^_^

First Jorge Rivera's camp responded to being spit at by Michael Bisping at UFC 127 and now Rivera himself has come out and given his thoughts on the bout, the illegal knee, and the spiting incident following the fight:
"That knee was deliberate, and I'll tell you exactly how I know this, I went to sweep him, and first of all, I want to say that he was at the press conference talking about how he's the better fighter, he's got better jiu-jitsu, better wrestling, but he takes me down, fine. I go to sweep him and he holds on to the fence. He holds on to the fence the whole time. ...And then, within 30 or 40 seconds of doing that, he knees me [illegally] in the head. I'm on all fours, he winds up and knees me in the head. Then he puts his hands up, walks over to my corner and says, 'He's the p-ssy.' Now if that wasn't deliberate, I don't know what the f-ck is. ... I promoted the hell out of this fight, I talked a lot of sh-t about this fight, I talked a lot of sh-t about him, and it's my job as a professional to go out there and do what I do. ... You've seen all the videos. Did I ever mention one thing about this man's family in any way shape or form? We're all fairly educated, right? Show me where I did that. Just show me where I did that, and then he'll get his apology. But I'm not a classless piece of sh-t like he is, so I would never f-cking do that."

I'm really disappointed George didn't change his gameplan at all, every single person in the arena was rooting for him (even the annoying Canadian girl behind me who thought that commenting on every little thing in every fight is what you do when you watch MMA) but regardless, I'm sure he will learn a hell of a lot from the loss.
As for Bisping, he showed no remorse, hardly any class after the fight when close to Rivera, as I saw it as almost a replay of his TUF 3 finale fight against Josh Haynes...obviously without the hype, mind...

I finally watched the event and it wasn't too bad. It was decent. Not the best and not the worst UFC card I've ever seen. Kinda in the middle on this one. That was certainly a dirty knee-strike by Bisping, that's for sure. I mean, Rivera was down on his knees and Bisping threw it anyway. I think he should have been disqualified because that was a blatant, illegal strike and it should have cost him the fight. There ARE rules you must abide by, but I guess Bisping ignored them. Oh well, I can always find enjoyment watching his fight with Hendo and seeing him get knocked the out. That will always bring a smile to my face. Lol.

Apparently, Dana White thought BJ won the fight... Dana just hates Jon Fitch.

I remember reading Joe Rogan's thoughts on the fight, and I think he thought BJ won too, but he can see the argument in a draw.

Look, I'm a huge BJ fan (he's my favorite fighter)...
But if that wasn't a 10-8 round in round three, then I don't know what is.

It wasn't. Round 1 was BJ, round 2 was 10-10, and round 3 was 10-9 for Fitch. Still a draw, but if I had to pick anyone that won the fight, it would be Fitch.

I'm also a HUGE Penn fan: if you gave him the 1st and 2nd (which I did) and Fitch the 3rd 10-9, then you'd have BJ the winner. BUT, as Kliq said - if that 3rd round wasn't a 10-8, then I don't know what is...
It seems a lot of judges don't like giving out 10-8 rounds - unless it's something akin to the first round of Edgar/Maynard 2. But BJ was just totally dominated in that round (as he admitted himself)... so it appeared Fitch won the fight as a whole.

BJ wasn't in danger of being finished. A 10-8 round is something like what you would have seen in the first round of Edgar/Maynard 2.

I would consider that to be almost a borderline 10-7 round, honestly.
I think making the second and third rounds equal, in this fight, is absurd, to be honest.

BJ wasn't in danger of being finished. I don't think that really matters... Fitch was totally dominant and it deserved more than being a standard 10-9 round. And if this had been a 5-rounder, Fitch may well have gone on to stop BJ via G'n'P.

Round Three reminded me a lot of Round 2 of Forrest/Rampage, with Forrest in dominant position nearly the entire round. I can't remember off the top of my head if the judges scored that a 10-8, but I know there was an argument for one. My only concern is, if those are 10-8 rounds, then what the hell is Round 1 of Edgar/Maynard? Is that realllly a 10-7?
Same can be said for round 1 of Carwin/Lesnar. Would you really pull out a 10-7 for those?

Fitch finishing a fight? lolz I LOL'd. Can't believe the first thign he said after the fight was that he wanted a title shot...I cracked up when Rogan calmly said 'It's gonna be hard to sell a title fight after this draw'... I still give it to BJ, but I was hoping that the BJ that showed up against Sanchez and Hughes was the one I would see...a big shame he didn't...
