Quite embarrassing, but whatever..over the years of collecting i still don't know what "UPC" is. because most of the times i see posts about asking for UPCs or talking about UPCs to get there figures that are not released in some stores. So I'm wondering what the UPC is. To me i think it's a "Common Sense" abbreviation , but i don't seem to get it. So please tell me what it means? all i think i know is that if you ask an employee in the store about a UPC number that you know, once they scan it they can try and bring you the item you want, need or looking for. so yeah thank you in advance for answering my question and once answered please delete thank you very much. .tHE ONE.

With Mattel a UPC isn't very helpful. Let me explain.
With Jakks, every set had a unique UPC code meaning for example, if you called TRU looking for RA 34, you'd use the numbers on the RA 34 box. If you were looking for AD 33, you'd use the numbers on the back of the AD 33 box, and so on and so forth. They are the numbers found on the back of a box under the barcode. For Target it was the same like it is now though, meaning all figures for Elite, Basic, etc, share the same DPCI number (the number Target has them programmed with).
But with Mattel, it's different. TRU has Mattel Basic figures, Elite's, etc, under one specific UPC. So if you call with a UPC, for say series 6, it won't let you know exactly if Basic 6 is in; just how many Mattel Basic figures are on the shelf.

Universal Product Code. It's the black and white bar code that are on most all products. It's what gets scanned at the checkout. The UPC number refers to the number that is below the bar code. The number can be used to look up the item in most retailers computers.

As for Legends just scan any Legends figure at Target to see if they have more in the stockroom because the Legends all share the same DCPI #. For Legends 3 at TRU - use this #: 575434 although all Legends share that inventory number at TRU. Pillman's UPC is - 027084786705 You can also give TRU this number and they can tell you if they have Series 3 at their store or warehouse yet.
