We all hear about the very often insult by a cashier at a store over someone buying action figures. A teenager or adult getting insulted for "playing with kiddie toys". I for one was wondering what kind of good stories you guys have had? What kind of experiences that you've had in collecting where a cashier was very nice and accepting of your hobby? I have one..
A couple years back I went to Wal-Mart looking for some figures. I was 13 at the time. I went in and found a Classic Psyhco Sid and an RA Mr. Kennedy in red. When I checked out, a lady, prolly in her 20s, asked me, "So you're a wrestling fan, huh?" I said, "Yes ma'am." I figured she would insult me, but she said something similar to this.. "I remember I went to a show at the VBC years ago with Sid there. He was a pretty mean dude. Really scary." And we proceeded to talk about Sid for a minute, and then I went on about my day.
Now what good stories have you guys experienced?

A similar story happened to me at a Kohls. I was checking out a B5 Hurricane & BO2010 Bourne, and this girl was probably about 24 maybe, and she was talking about how her little brrother likes WWE and how they went to a show at the Giant Center once. She was real cool.

When I bought my legend series 2 Jake the Snake at kmart an older lady probably early 50s was ringing me up and said oh Jake the Snake was quite the character back then and how he should have won the title. And started telling me how her husband collects and he couldn't wait to get Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior and she was saying how she hoped they would hit stores before christmas.

I really hate being bothered lol. I actually look for old ladies that seem quiet that won't be nosy. I bought like 2 Sheamuses the other day, and the lady asked if they are for me. I told her they go for $100 on ebay and she looked a little jealous lol. Guy behind me as well was checking them out hardcore, I was ready to tell him off

A couple years ago, I plopped the Cade/Murdoch belt pack and the first DA Jericho on the counter. The old lady (early-seventies, at the least) looked at the Jericho and said "I hate him, he smacked Shawn's wife!"
I should've remembered her name, I'd be sure to go to her line every time I had more wrestling toys to purchase.

I've never had anything like this happen to me. The best story I got is about when I found Elite 5 at K-Mart. I got Ziggler, Chavo and Rey, paid with a $100 bill and as I watched the guy take the change from the register I noticed he didn't take out enough. He gave me my change, I counted it in front of his face and said.. ummmm... you owe me $10 back. This isn't correct. He put on a mad face and opened the register and gave me the money. There was quite a line on the lane so before I left, I said out loud, "NICE TRY!!"
He obviously figured he could get one over on me. What a fool...

At Walmart a woman, I'd say around 40 was surprised there were new kinds of figures out.I explained the switchover to Mattel and she said she will have to start buying those for her son now.

i have one good story and one bad one: the bad one: this took place at a toys r us earlier this year. i was there with my cousin. i bought some figures and he bought some card. because we think its easier we just pay for everything together and put in our shares of the money. so we go to pay the cashier rings us up and says "ok thats $100.00 for toys to play with. only in america. then my cousin hands me his share of the money and i hand it over to the cashier. she says "aww and ur going halfsies too." then she says to me "ill give u the change since i saw u put in more."
the good one: this was at a target. i grabbed a few figures and while the cashier was ringing me up and she was like "so do u open these or do u keep them in the box?" i told her that i open them thinking she was about to make a stupid comment. then she goes "oh thats cool. i know a lot of people keep these in the box but i see these little stands in there so i was curious to know if now they make them so u can put them up outside the box" then she went on for a little about how much more real toys look now then wen she was younger. she seemed pretty nice and enthusiastic about her job.

I went to a Toys R Us and talked with a cashier for a few minutes and she was wondering who the cool wrestlers were and I told her who my favorite wrestlers are and then I asked why she asked that and she had said she had a neighbor who was into wrestling and she wanted to know a bit about wrestling.

The only time I've ever had a good story was my aunt who works at argos. She always asks me about them and what they're like. Other than that most of the cashiers just take your order and put it through.

To this day I've never actually had a bad encounter with a cashier about figures. The nicest was probobly when I went to a TRU that was kind of out of my way in order to find some new Adrenaline two-packs (the series that MNM debuted in) and I was so happy when I found them. After I cashed out the lady at the cash told me to enjoy my figures.

Once in a while I'll get someone who used to be a fan and they'll ask what the wrestler I'm buying is doing now. Depressing when the person I'm buying has been dead for a while.

I never have an issue with a cashier whenever I buy figures I have had a worker at K-Mart talk with me about wrestling when I looked through their stock, and a cute girl at Target give me a slick smile and say "Oh a wrestling fan" when she saw me and my wife going to the check out with like 4 Elites.

I get puzzled looks that are often followed by the question, "Are you a wrestler?" ;D
