Judging criteria is based on: -Clean Strikes -Effective Grappling -Octagon Control -Effective Aggressiveness
Diaz may have scored more strikes but most of those were baby shots that had little to no effect on Kim. Diaz tried to go for many submission attempts but was unsuccessful, thus giving Kim the advantage for submission defense. Kim had obvious octagon control and aggressiveness since he was the one pushing the action and maintaining control of Diaz for the duration of the fight. Diaz was good at keeping Kim in his guard but failed to get into a dominate position or get to his feet.
Like I said, I really wanted Diaz to win this fight also, but as I watched the fight and afterwards when I watched it again on my DVR, I could clearly see that Diaz lost.

You don't consider working and staying busy off your back as "effective grappling"? Diaz showed that throughout round 1. He lost the second, and won the 3rd. It's whatever though. It was close.

It'll be Maynard vs. Bendo. Why do you always post everything as though it's set in stone?

Did I say "it will happen for sure"? Did I say "Dana White just announced..."? No. I said what I thought it was going to be.

Bendo now has Mark Bocek at UFC 129 Either way, impressed with Guida finishing Gomi.

Bocek is a dark horse. His jiu-jitsu is great.

Bocek is a dark horse. His jiu-jitsu is great. So is Donald Cerrone's and we all know how Bendo handled that. But I agree with you, I'll never count Boceck out.

Cerrone isn't that great of a grappler. On top of all that, he made a technical error on the 2nd fight with Henderson by going in too quick.

James excuse me if I'm wrong here before i assume, firstly i agree i do think Diaz should have won. Are you main interests in BJJ ? Mine are, that's why i thought Diaz should have won. He was the much much more active fighter off his back. Throwing for stuff and trying to set up countless subs. Dong done very little damage what so ever and just used his weight advantage.
I think an overhaul is needed in that respect in judging. There was massive controversy in Ireland during the summer in a very similar fight. I'm sure you know of it if you wanted to watch it, there is a somewhat large i think mainly EU database online of fights that have been recorded.
* Should have replied after reading the last page. Very excited for Bendo and Bocek his jitz is top quality. I would say he is the second best in the division behind George Sots. THAT would be an epic fight to see. However it would probably be better to see it in a grappling match as opposed to in a UFC Cage.

I REALLY like the Bendo/Bocek fight. Gives them both a fantastic opportunity to prove where they lie in the division.
I honestly would've preferred Bendo vs Jim Miller and Kamal Shalorus vs Mark Bocek, but I still don't mind Bendo/Bocek.
