Okay, so as I posted here two days ago I ordered the DM Macho Man figure when it was still on pre order. I got it when it got in stock, I will say the shipping was very quick. However I didn't open it until Christmas day as it was a Christmas gift. Upon opening it, I seen the torso joint was very stiff and unmovable. I tried putting it in hot water to loosen the joint but nothing. It appears that some glue is stuck in there or something. I emailed Ringside about the problem and explained how the DM Savage is an Elite style figure and I should be able to move the chest, but I can't.
I then got an email back where I felt like they were telling me I didn't know what I was talking about. They proceeded to tell me it is an Elite style figure as if I'm not aware of that already and that as long as the jacket is off it should move. Obviously I'm aware of that and the jacket is off the figure. I was then offered to ship it back on my own dollar(I already paid nearly $40 for this figure) and if they felt there was something wrong with it they would send me a new one. HOWEVER, I was also told that the figure must be unopened in it's original packaging. Now obviously it's opened because if it wasn't I wouldn't know of this problem.
While myself and Jon have never always seen eye to eye I have ordered from Ringside since 2002 and have probably placed around 100 orders from them between now and then. However, now when I have a problem which I know is an error on Mattel's part and not Ringside's it seems as though I'm getting a run around and being talked to like I don't know what I'm talking about. Now like I said yes maybe this is a Mattel error and it's not Ringside's fault but if I bought the figure at Toys R Us, Target or Walmart they would have to give me an even exchange. Ringside refuses to do that unless I send it in on my own pocket(wouldn't it be easier to just take my DM Shawn Michaels receipt from Target then and take it back there) and it must be in the package unopened. If Ringside some how feels that the figure is fine(nothing is broken the joint just won't move) they won't send me a new one. I'm really disappointed with that considering how long I've wanted a Randy Savage figure for.

Wow. I can't really say anything bad about RSC from any of my experiences, but I certainly feel for you.I have been saying for months now, Mattel needs to step up the quality control. Especially on these "premium" figures. Hopefully you and Ringside can work something out ,but make no mistake the real culprit here is Mattels QC department. Or lack thereof.

I know it's a factory error but I spent my money with Ringside Collectibles. Just like if I spent my money with TRU, Walmart or Target. Where ever you get that figure from should be where it's replaced. It's like if you hit the pick it. Whatever store you bought the ticket in you usually bring it back to and they give you the money you won.

RSC isnt a corporation the size of TRU, Walmart, etc. They cant be taking hits like those companies can. The problem is clearly an issue for Mattel and not RSC. I suggest contacting them with your concern.

im not sure wat to say. in my previous experiences with RSC's customer service they have always been awesome to deal with. While I've never had a problem with Ringside either I have got into it with Jon before via aim but that was years back when Ringside first took over and it was over Ringside prices and what not. I think we are both over that now though. I understand why the price is what it is and hey they can charge whatever they want as long as people are buying, it's a business and I'm aware they have to pay a lot more to have it shipped over. I didn't speak to Jon directly about this issue, I spoke to Ben. At least that's what the email said. I know it kind of sucks for Ringside since Savage is such a hot seller and I can see why they wouldn't want to replace a figure as hot as that when they could make an extra $35 but I'm sure TRU, Walmart & Target all feel the same way. When you buy something with a factory error, the store you buy it from you should be able to return it whether it's been taken out of the package or not. I mean you don't know there is an issue with something until you take it out of the package.

I suggest contacting them with your concern. It shouldn't matter the size of the company. I've dealt with Mattel before and got sent a refund voucher from the company. I however had trouble when I brought it into TRU but they worked it out. This however would mean I'd then have to hope I can even find the figure in stores. I've dealt with Mattel before and they don't just send you a new figure, sadly that isn't how they work. Ringside makes enough money to be in business this many years that if the figure has a problem they should be able to replace it. It's just like any other business. If you buy something from them, the item should be replaced if it has a defect to it.

Actually, as long as the figure has a defect as major as this one, Ringside should give him a replacement.
The China factories would and should give Ringside a credit or replacement. It's only 1 figure which is nothing to the millions churned out by the China factories.

I have also never had a problem with them.
I also understand why they are charging you to ship it back. If you bought it from Walmart and take it back, they aren't going to pay for your gas. It's the same reason why you have to pay for the shipping.
When buying stuff online you take the risk of it being defective and having to go through a bit more to send it back.
Hope it all ends well for you though.

It still couldn't hurt to contact Mattel though. If RSC isn't going to be able to accomodate you, then its worth a shot. Someone should compensate you. Its a giant ripoff for a figure of that pricepoint (RSC or retail) to not be 100% perfect. I am still pissed over a WM26 Undertaker I ordered off of TRU.com that is missing all of his paint from the right side of his head. I had to eat that one since the website had sold out briefly and my brick and mortar STILL hasn't got them in. From what I gather,Mattel might send you a voucher for a replacement. But 1 way or another you should get some kind of satisfaction out of this.

I spoke with our customer service manager regarding this issue. You were offered a full refund or exchange of the figure. I do not understand how offering you a full refund or an exchange for a new one is "poor" customer service. In addition, you have a pattern of bashing our company on this forum over the past few years. In addition, we have received zero complaints from any other customer that purchased this item and I have seen zero reports of there being a manufacturing issue with this item on the forum.
