TRU had a sale on the 2 packs, 50% off about a month ago. I finally picked up Sheik and Volkoff. I was stoked because there was only 2 sets left and I was hoping for series 2 but no, they had 2 more cases in the back! The shelves will be warm for along time. Mattel's lack of news on the Legends line has really bummed me out, I like seeing and hearing about new items as much as I like collecting them. Even if I don't buy a certain figure I still like to see them.

I agree with everyone here. The reason they arent selling is because they already produced a Piper and an Iron Shiek. Even though I bought the whole set(couldnt help myself) The series 2 Iron Shiek blows the 2 pack out of the water. To be honest the Piper and Bob Orton set isnt really a great set...its a good set but not a great set.

I'm sure we'll still get series 2 in time. Personally I can't wait to get Kevin & Kerry Von Erich & The Rockers. Still it would be nice if we could find out if & who the third set would be. Unless they are dropping down to two sets per series. I agree the problem with series 1 was the line up. I only ordered Piper lose on E-bay but I quickly replaced him with the Entrance Great version once I found it. If the line up would have been L.O.D., Demolition, & the Rockers you could bet they would have sold a lot faster. I FULLY agree. If they were released that way, i would've LOVED series 1. It should have been; bushwackers, LOD, Demolition. That way they could have all sold (hopefully) a lot better. And at the same time we would have only gotten 1 Iron Sheik and Piper could've been released by himself!! With there being a singles series and a tag series it is really weird how they put two pretty popular tag teams (lod and demo) in the singles series, you would think they would want to use all the tag teams they can in the tag series.

I agree as well. The lineup was terrible and there was no reason to place the Road Warriors and Demolition as singles figures. Orton, Piper and Volkoff could have been singles figures or not released at all. Mattel probably assumed packaging Volkoff and Orton with more popular wrestlers (Piper and Sheik) would provide more intrigue. However, lets be realistic, Orton and Volkoff do not appeal to the masses either way. If/when series 2 is released, I hope the Von Erichs are packed 1 per case because I do not expect the Von Erichs to appeal to a broader market either. As a result, we could see more shelf warming and the series delayed again.

But let's first recognize that the Animal and Hawk released were not L.O.D., they were the Road Warriors, which is very cool and I love them, but let's be real, the red and black spiked LOD is the one most remember/love best. They should STILL come out with them as a two pack. And Celticsjk is right, the Von Erichs will not appeal to a wide audience. WWF gimmicks that got a lot of play, like the Rockers, were nationally pushed. Gimmicks like the Von Erichs were popular teams in more regional promotions. I only remember Kerry as the Texas Tornado. As such, I will may pass of this two-pack until they cut it to 50% off. But these are TRU exclusives. They aren't going to release a whole lot of essential figures on an exclusive line.

I am eagerly awaiting that Von Erich pack. The Rockers too ,but Kerry and Kevin are longtime wants Jakks never gave us. As far as the "third team" goes,I really hope there isn't one. These things are too expensive for more than a 2 set wave IMO.

I'd punch Big Show in the face for a Hernandez/Adams or a Garvin/Hayes two pack!
Another team I want is a Gordy & Williams set.

Dr. Death and Bam Bam were awesome for the short time they were together...loved how they ran roughshod over the Steiner's....i remember Flair talking about how the Steiner's generally abused people in the ring, and threw them around in unsafe ways, just to prove how "tough" they were... and when they had the series with Gordy and Williams, that simply didn't happen. period.

I hope the third team is the Hart Foundation. x) i think it will happen someday, but not soon...Bret hasn't even signed with Mattel yet,and Neidhart's recent run-in with the law has WWE kinda keeping thier distance from him at the moment...

Yeah, this was year one of how many? Four? I can't remember. But if they're going to carry this 2-pack line on, along with the single legends and special lines like Entrance Greats and Defining Moments, they can't get too far ahead of themselves. I mean, there are a lot of legends out there. Some of you are requesting guys I've never heard of because I never watched ECW, NWA or WCCW (not to be confused with WCW).
I have my own list of wants that I compiled after looking at my old Hasbros and running down the cards of all the old Royal Rumbles and Wrestlemanias, and I already have a good 20-25% of my list filled. If I get lucky, Mattel could complete my list by, say, summer of 2012. Except I know it will take a while before we see a Kevin Nash or possibly a Sting, 80s Hogan or Flair, all of which are essential to complete a collection. Hopefully we'll get those before Mattel's contract ends.

I don't mind if they cancel the 2-packs as long as they still come out with tag teams in the single sets like they did with Demolition.
