Finally found DM!! Got them at Target, the $22.99 each. I jumped on Macho Man first, there must have been 2 cases, if there is one of each per case. After hanging out with my friend for a little bit, I went back to Target and grabbed HBK after thinking about it from leaving Target the first time until I decided to get him. Great figures...simply amazing. Detail, attire, accuracy, accessories, all of it...they are all great. And I still find it mind-blowing that, in 15 years of Jakks having the WWE license - and 6 years of Classic Superstars - that they couldn't get Macho Man signed. And Mattel did it...got him signed, planned, designed, and produced in the first year. Unbelievable.

Congrats on your pickups, was/is the torso joint stiff on Savage? Mine was and I did the hot water to fix it. But now I have these stains on his upper body, I don't know if it is glue or if it was already there before.

Mine was a little tight, stuck a little as I tried to spin it, but I got it loose with no problems or stains.

Nice pick ups and pictures. I got them both this week to and decided to get both since i figured if i didn't i would be regretting and it and wouldn't be able to find it later.
I think the reason Jakks couldn't get him signed was b/c he didn't really accept his wrestling anymore and i heard he got married and maybe his new wife helped him change his views a little and that's how it got done.

I too found DM series 1 today. I only picked up Macho, but both figures look amazing. Congrats on your finds and purchases!

I was the first to report the stiff Savage torso even though Ringside claims "no one else complained of this problem". I just ended up returning mine to Target and getting one in exchange. Now the torso on mine is fine.

I think the reason Jakks couldn't get him signed was b/c he didn't really accept his wrestling anymore and i heard he got married and maybe his new wife helped him change his views a little and that's how it got done. He played a wrestler in Spiderman, and that movie is around 10 years old...not 15. Anyway I love the DM HBK (plan on getting MM soon), but I think Jakks did a much better job on the head in the Heaven and Hell set. The scan, hair color, stubble...all ridiculously better, which is odd considering Mattel almost always pays much more attention to detail than Jakks. But atleast the Mattel version doesn't have the cartoonishly big arms. I'll have to wait to find another HBK to do a head swap with.

I am not a fan of that s*** eating grin that Jakks put on their Heaven And Hell version of HBK. This was something that Shawn took seriously, he wasn't all non-chalant about the match, like 1997 DX HBK. I may swap heads with the 2pk Series 1 HBK head so it's a more serious scan.
