EXPLODE! Wrestling is a collective project brought to you by some of he greatest minds in professional wrestling history...
By the end of 2010, professional wrestling had hit a "dry spell". Fans just simply were not getting the same product that enjoyed many years ago. Long gone are the days of bitter rivalries. Long gone are larger than life heroes and villains battling it out for the World Heavyweight title.
This would have to be changed if pro wrestling wanted to survive. Then, the unthinkable happened...
A major meeting was called in Richmond, Virginia by a Mr. Vincent K. McMahon. Called to this meeting were Dixie Carter, Paul Heyman, Ted Turner and legendary professional wrestler Ric Flair, each of them accompanied by financial advisers and close business partners.
Mr. McMahon headed the meeting by asking everyone in the room to politely agree, at least for the duration of the meeting, to forgive and forget. It is common knowledge to most wrestling enthusiasts that these personalities did not click during their respective times together. However, today, all of that would change.
McMahon expressed his concerns with the state of pro wrestling, and for this he apologized. "Most of this is on me, because of cruel rivalries and bad business decisions," he stated. He further explained that he has noticed a huge change in the atmosphere of the WWE's shows, and other companies shows as well. "Our product has become a mockery of it's former self. Sports Entertainment has overwritten professional wrestling. We just aren't getting the same respect that we used to." Dixie Carter, Ted Turner, Paul Heyman and Ric Flair all agreed. Something needed to change.
McMahon then revealed his idea. A worldwide wrestling promotion. A promotion that had an open roster. Featuring only the best talent from WWE, TNA and many other major companies. These talents would all compete for belts that could still be defended in their respective promotions. This promotion would not technically merge the companies, but it would serve as a working area for them all. Titles won could be defended in whichever promotion the title holder calls home. This company would run alongside all others.
This promotion would be a collective idea to stop the wars between rival promotions. To succeed in unity so the great sport of professional wrestling lived a long, illustrious life.
Turner, Carter, Heyman and Flair all agreed to the concept. Ted Turner was good for financial backing, and so was Carter. Paul Heyman would make his return to booking matches once again, and Ric Flair would serve as Commissioner alongside McMahon. This group would be called The Council.
The meeting came to an end, and then work began. The Council used all of their available resources and within a matter of weeks, a worldwide TV deal had been reached. Contract signings from top tier talent from all over the world had been secured, and venues for TV shows were in the books.
And just like that EXPLODE! Wrestling was born.

Quite the far-fetched, interesting way to go with things to merge companies. Not that big of a fan of the idea of it ever - but I'll just wait to see what you have to show.

EW Newsletter #1: The New Beginning Report by: John Novak
Hello readers, this is your Senior News Correspondent John Novak with Explode Wrestling's first newsletter. I have lots of news and updates for you this issue, and I will cover alot of ground on the workings of this promotion.
First of all, I have been instructed by The Council (McMahon, Turner, Carter, Heyman, Flair) to give you a run-down on how the company works, and here it is.
- Explode Wrestling is a "subsidiary" of WWE, TNA, and other major independent promotions from all across the world. The most important topic to address first is the status of all other companies, and to answer a question sent in by many fans, no. Explode Wrestling will not overtake any other promotion. That would be counter productive to it's main goal. EW will serve as a working ground for talents from many promotions. It will house the best of the best. Titles won in EW can be defended (with approval from The Council) in whichever promotion the title holder is coming from. That title match will take place on EW television. If the challenger loses the title, the new title holder will be put on the active roster for EW. That is pretty much the game plan so far.
- Onto other news, I'm sure many of you are wondering how the selection of talent took place. Well, The Council came together and hand picked each talent based on several criteria: Career Success, Title Reigns, Popularity, and Ability. With such strict critera, you can see that each superstar in EW is an elite performer.
- Not much has been released yet in the way of an official card for the first TV show, but we do know all titles will have holders by the end.
- The TV show will be called "Elite".
- Several special guests including a few wrestling legends will be in attendance. No names yet.
Thank you all for reading and stay tuned for more updates.
