UFC 126 Card Preview and Predictions

Man...Wow...I am at a loss for words...Stunned is one word how I feel right now. Well, I did say that it would be a quick fight and it would be over in the 1st...I just picked the wrong person, as per usual. LOL.

Man, Anderson is THE deadliest striker in the game today, perhaps ever. Tonight was just another example of how good he truly is.

With that win over Vitor, I'd say he's cleaned out the Middleweight division. I mean, Vitor was his last true test, in my opinion. And he clearly passed that with flying colors. Lol.

Anderson will retire as the Middleweight champ of the world. There just isn't anyone good enough to beat that man. Nobody in the UFC anyway. They can try, but they'll just end up on the losing end.

I don't even know if putting him with Sonnen again will be a good idea. Silva's already beat him. Been there, done that.

I guess the only thing left for Anderson is the dream fight with GSP. I wonder if that one will ever happen...

He strikes me as arrogant and completely full of himself. He believes his own hype. And it seems like whenever he fights somebody, and the other guy says he can't wait to get in there/he will beat Silva he "takes it personally". Cmon. He "took it personally" against Vitor, Maia, Leites(fellow countrymen ironically) then Sonnen because Sonnen is the best talker in the sport. Cmon, its the fight business and you're the champ. People want to fight you & take your belt. He should get thicker skin. That's just stupid.

Nevermind the dancing in the cage/inconsistent performances. If he's so uber confident that he can finish the guy at any time DO IT instead of dance around like he did at UFC 112. Don't do your best Michael Jackson dance in the cage(cue PRIDE gif. :-P ). Had he pressed Maia after the second round, I think he could have finished him. Instead he danced and Maia started throwing like a bat out of hell in the later rounds after failed takedowns. He couldn't have countered Maia's striking and finished him there? He did it against Forrest expertly. No excuse why he couldn't do it to Maia. Being worried about a take down is not an excuse. Its MMA. Everyone hits the ground at some point. I'm sure if he went for the kill and Maia dropped & grabbed a leg, he could have defended it.

Consistency is key in becoming a big draw in the sport and a fan favorite. GSP is consistent. Chuck Liddell in his prime was consistent. Wanderlei Silva was consistent. Fedor is consistent. Anderson Silva can be the best ever, like tonight, but can appear to be on Mars in another fight. Ordering an Anderson Silva show is always a risk. Will we get the Silcva that fought Cote, Leites and Maia who doesn't go for it? Or the Vitor, Franklin, Henderson fighter who is the best ever? There's a reason why people still boo him, but have never booed those other guys. Hell, he was booed at the weigh ins yesterday. People are frustrated.

Tonight, he was the fighter he should always be and did the right thing. He finished the fight in the most concise fashion possible without much of the BS dancing. No big gripes about him tonight. I'll just never ever root for the guy in any fight he will ever be in. Simple as that.

Anyway, I'm done with this. Great performance by Silva tonight. No one is taking that belt away from him.

So, is Okami still next for Anderson?? Man, I wish that guy the best of luck. He's gonna need it after seeing that spectacular KO tonight. I give Okami 2 chances in that one...Slim and none.

But, just imagine if Okami turns out to be the man to stop Anderson Silva...How crazy would that be?? You just never know in MMA. Every fighter eventually loses. No fighter is unbeatable, no matter how good they are.

Okami will clearly be the major underdog in that one. I wonder when that one will take place....

Honestly, I don't think they're going to do Okami/Silva. I think, despite all that's gone on, Silva's next fight will either be at 205 or a superfight with GSP. He's done with 185. No one besides Sonnen has come close, and who knows when Sonnen will be back. A fight with Okami is a wasted fight, in my opinion, with all the other possibilities(Silva/Shogun, Silva/GSP, Silva/Rashad hell, even Silva/Jones would be something to see if Jones beats Shogun). Okami deserves the shot. But if they do that, they're going to have to load up that card for people to buy it.

I didn't even care for that fight after Rogan announced Rashad was out and Bones was in. My jaw hit the floor and I needed a f*cking crane to pick it up. I still don't even.

I'm so, so glad Vitor lost. He didn't deserve the shot in the first place (I've said that all along) but man, I didn't expect it to go down like that.

From a business standpoint, Okami vs. Silva is not appealing. Casual fans don't know Okami and it more than likely would not sell that many PPV's. I'm not a fan of Okami's style and think Anderson would beat him decisively. GSP vs. Silva would be huge and do big numbers... it makes more sense, think about it. I think Anderson would defeat GSP as well, although it would be a much more competitive fight.

Fanboys? What? Does that even make sense?
