Hmmm... I thought the whole PPV was strangely flat. Belfort was pretty disappointing (some are even calling him a "disgrace")... I mean, he didn't even throw a punch until the third minute - I thought he'd at least take the fight to Silva and go for the KO. Still - I predicted a first round win for Silva, so I'm not too upset.  Man, it sucks for Rashad... waiting all this time and then blowing your knee out. Looks like Jones is getting the Brock Lesnar treatment... with Machida/Couture and Rampage/Silva already booked, the fight makes sense though. Shogun's going DOWN. |

I think Belfort honestly gave Anderson too much respect. I think if he attacked him without being afraid, he would have much more success. He was afraid.

Everyone KNOWS the kick, but no one can use it properly. Like I said, when was the last time you ever saw anyone effectively use that to knock someone out? NEVER. Actually, I saw it in an October UCMMA event (over here in the UK). Cory Tait knocked out Dino Gambatesa after about 10 seconds of the second round using a very, very similar kick to what Anderson Silva used on Belfort. Here it is... about 20 seconds in. |
