There has been no Ric Flair action figure in TNA's Jakks line because Mattel signed an exclusive deal for a Flair figure with their WWE line but once he signed with TNA, those plans were scrapped. Jakks can't produce a TNA figure for Flair as long as Mattel has the rights.

I wonder how long Mattel has him signed.

So jakks cant make flair because mattel has the rights, and mattel cant make a flair beacuse he's signed with tna,
Thats stupid

Why in the ing hell can't we get a Flair figure just because he is signed with TNA? If Mattel has the rights to produce Flair figures and or Hulk Hogan figures and are just not, that really sucks.

I'm sure TNA has contractual stipulations in place that prevents Flair from generating merchadise elsewhere. Likewise I'm not surprised if Vince rather not promote his current "competition" indirectly.
It looks like this is neither Jakks or Mattel's fault - they've done what they had to do, Mattel to secure the rights to produce, Jakks by association with TNA to get the talent locked into a contract. It really is up to Ric Flair himself on what he wants to do.
Somehow I don't think getting another action figure of himself is top priority on Flair's list.

This is what I figured was going on. After seeing no Flair in any lineup (rumored or otherwise) I started thinking that mattel could have had the rights since he was slated for EG. So I guess Vince is the one who needs to lighten up here. Up until now I figured it could be a contractual deal with the toy companies causing this. And for the Jakks side,it is. So there is no real ,truly plausible reason, for Mattel to be prohibited from Ric. Sucks even more since Flair/Vince are still on good terms personally.

In one of the Mattel Q and A's Mattel said the limits on who they could not make a figure of anyone signed with another company. Most likely that is due to the WWE not granting them the okay for anyone not with the WWE.

Flair needs to quite ASAP!!! He's isnt wrestling on TNA so its not about being in the ring. Go back to WWE, work part time (tv only) as a GM or Manager.

thats kinda dumb. wwe should just let mattel make a flair. wen foley's book came out they promoted it and did and interview with him on wwe.com. foley is one of my heroes but flair is a much bigger legend in the business (as is hogan) and he deserves a figure. the only reason should be if hes exclusive to TNA. but i feel like hes not exclusive. when WWE made him an offer after his retirement match i thought he turned it down because WWE wanted him exclusively. as for TNA figures theres no real need to worry. theres plenty of flair figures out there produced by Jakks.

They forced him into retirement, which he didn't want, then promised to use him as a manager/on-air talent but didn't which is why he went to TNA. He's supposedly the happiest he's ever been in TNA, so I doubt he's going anywhere. Also, Flair probably made out alright in this deal. Mattel paid him for his rights, but now due to a decree from WWE can't do anything with it. Not Flair's fault. Hopefully Jakks can get his contract whenever it comes up.

Mattel can still make a figure of him since they have the rights to do so... it happened with Nash in 2005/2006, he still had a TNA figure out too. They can make him anytime they want, this report is so full of BS.

Flair is probably happy in TNA just because he can make all the ex wife jokes he wants. But in WWE I can't see him doing anything significant aside from appearing at anniverssary shows. In TNA hes helping showcase younger talent while WWE buries them (Primo,Yoshi,Bourne, etc.)

This would suck even more if making an Elite Flair wasn't so easy. Now if you replaced the word "Flair" with "Hogan", it'd be a massive crap storm

S I guess this is a waiting game now; either Mattel's rights end or Flair leaves TNA.
Man what a clusterf*ck of a situation, which in all honesty is no one's fault. I thought it odd Jakks didn't have a DI or LOTR Flair in the line-ups.

Well there was an EG Flair planned until he left for TNA. It was on TRU.com last Jan 1st for a little while until they removed all preorders. But every other EG figure they had listed on the site (Piper, Rock, Taker, M$M & Jericho) was true. So that would lead me to believe Flair was true as well.

I think mattel should give up the rights, because sooner or later he is gonna leave tna then mattel can sign plus in all honesty, who is gonna make more money from a flair figure, jakks with their 20+ flair figures or just 1 DM Flair.
Exactly.

Truthfully, I would expect TNA to fold before Mattel's deal with WWE is up. If (when) that happens I am sure all those under contract with TNA will be signed with WWE for at least a short term invasion storyline. And those former WWE wrestlers will be able to be made by Mattel.

So basically, nobody can make figures of him. Right?
Hehe. His retirement CDSA Ringside exclusive is enough for me.
