one of the main differences is the way the look. cena looks like an idiot hogan looks look like a wrestler and fairy intimidating where cena isnt I don't mind the styles because Hogan style from the late 80's early 90's . Cena is 2000's.

Cena can't even compare to Hogan. Hulkamania is and was 10X bigger than Cenation will ever be.

Cena can't even compare to Hogan. Hulkamania is and was 10X bigger than Cenation will ever be. Sure he can compare. They're both the biggest draws for their company in their respective time periods, and they both make horrible movies. The economy is different, and just in general the times change, so there's always going to be a curve as to whether Hogan was more popular than Cena. Wrestling is more exposed as a business now. In the 80's, you still had the mystique of these larger than life guys who stayed in kayfabe all the time. Now, you have people breaking it, and discussing every aspect of the business, so people aren't as intrigued as before. They call Cena a modern day Hogan because that's just what he is, he is a modern day Hulk Hogan for the WWE. That's what they're pushing him as, and that's what he's become. I'd take Cena over Hogan any day of the week, too.

I find it really stupid when people say Cena cannot compare to Hulk Hogan in his prime. Yes, he can, for all those reasons in Hugo's post.

Training, Prayers and Vitamins > Hustle, Loyalty and Respect Prayers and Vitamins maybe... and only because The Rock mentioned them in his promos.

If Cena was a star in the 80s and in his prime, Cenation compared to Hulkamania would be Hulkakmania>Cenation If Hogan was a star in the 2000s and in his prime is would be Hulkamania>Cenation still. And thats my opinion, not fact but we'll never know.

Yeah I dunno, they both have different characters, different looks and different skill set. The only similarity is that they are both marketed towards a younger demographic and have big muscles.

Was Hogan marketed to kids? I figured everyone was behind Hogan in the 80's if you were a WWF fan. No one seemed to dislike him, until the early 90's.

Everyone I knew thought I was crazy for not being a Hulk-a-maniac, but I was more into Macho Madness.

John Cena if he were to turn heel again, I would want him to go back to his Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick which made him so popular, or at least give him a Hollywood gimmick similar to HoganYou're saying that they're trying to turn him into Hogan when he is not, yet you want them to give him Hogan's gimmick?

Cena can't be a mega star to me. Well, to us 20 years olds or attitude era fans, but to the kids he can. But, by 2006 when he started hearing all those boos; to me, i think he couldn't handle it. He lost that attitude he once had. He doesn't have that ego that HBK, Stone Cold or The Rock has. He needs to be liked to be great. And you can't. yep totally appears he can't stand the boos

If I was cena I would consider it a honor to be compared to hogan but I would want to kinda of branch off from being hulk hogan later down the road i would want people to be comparing them to me. So in other words I would try to be better then Hogan.
