The Chicago News Cooperative is reporting that an Illinois Appellate Court has overturned a decision regarding Rahm Emanuel's Chicago residency. The court reportedly decided Emanuel is not eligible to run for mayor of Chicago because he has not been a resident of the city for one year.
BWAHAHAHAHA.
They've just ruled he can run.

Good. There was no reason why he couldn't be on the ballot. Just because he's on there does not mean he is guaranteed to win. It's likely he will from things I've heard on CNN, but it was no guarantee. I'm glad he got back on the ballot. Not that it affects me in any way at all, but...

The only thing we don't know is what percent he will get. If he gets under 50% + 1 then there will be a run off. If he gets that or above, he's mayor outright. |

Well, then they should refund the Chicago property taxes he paid. WHY? He lived in DC but he still owned property in Chicago so why shouldnt he have to pay? My home is in Chicago but im on the road about 20 days a month does that mean since im not home most of the time I shouldnt pay taxes either? I F'ing Hate Rham so much. I hope to god he does not Win. The guy is not a Chicagoan. |
