As much as i wanna see Tony win it i would like to see Edwards win just as much. He has been a hell of a racer and deserves it.Would be nice to see someone new get it.

It's going to suck to see Tony win - even as a fan - since I feel like the champion should be who has been good/great all season, Tony hasn't.

It's going to suck to see Tony win - even as a fan - since I feel like the champion should be who has been good/great all season, Tony hasn't. That's the reason behind the Chase. He was good enough to be in the Chase, and he took advantage of his seed, and it happens that he's won 4 races in the Chase and put himself in nearly the best possible position to win his 3rd title. Comparable to the Packers last year. They played well enough at the end of the season to make the playoffs as a Wild Card team. To say that it sucks that they won the title because they certainly weren't "good/great" all season long, is a tad ridiculous to me. And a 10-6 record, while enough, is not overwhelming.

So far, so good. Smoke still has a chance, but I'll be happy if Edwards gets it. Junior's doing pretty damn good today!!! ;D!

I want Tony, but at least its not Jimmie. truest words i ever read. Jimmie being champ this year completely would of killed the sport imo.

One of the best races I've seen, and definitely the best championship battle I've seen. Contenders finishing 1-2, tied in the points, amazing. Congrats to Smoke!

sigh... I hate the chase format. So. The man who has strangled the series for the last 5 years - Jimmie Johnson - was nowhere near the title this year, 2 competitive drivers had a chance, and this final race was the epitome of term Chase For The Cup, yet it still gets looked down on. That's fair. This format awarded the more successful driver, Tony Stewart, for his 5 wins as opposed to Carl Edwards with his 1. Tony won more races, thus he deserves the title.

I'd rather see the guy who has been on top for the entire season win the championship, personally. I'm not knocking the greatness that was this years championship chase nor am I knocking Tony winning... I just don't like the format of the chase. I was happy with the result either way, ask KvE. I wanted Carl Edwards to win, but wasn't disappointed that Tony won because I was fine with either of them for their own reasons. It would have been cool for Carl to win to throw in NASCAR's face about "wins meaning more", also because he deserves it. It is cool for Tony to win to be the book-ends on Jimmie's run. I won't apologize for my opinion.

People need to realize that NASCAR doesn't reward consistency anymore. Tony took advantage of that, and did exactly what every Chase champion has done. He was good enough for 26 races, and lights out for 10 races winning half of the chase.
I don't like the chase, but honestly I'm not gonna complain because we just got a tie.
